Hey guys,
I just wondered if anyone could tell me how well this laptop might be able to play PS2? I'm concerned about the CPU maybe being a bottleneck? It'll be arriving in a few days. 17.3" Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080) Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-4700MQ (2.40GHz) 6MB 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 (2 x 8GB) NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 780M - 4.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 11 120GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW) 750GB WD SCORPIO BLACK WD7500BPKT, SATA 3 Gb/s, 16MB CACHE (7200 rpm) 4x BLURAY ROM, 8x DVD ±R/±RW & CYBERLINK SOFTWARE Internal 9 in 1 Card Reader (MMC/RSMMC/SD: Mini, XC & HC/MS: Pro & Duo) Intel 5.1 Channel High Definition Audio + SPDIF/MIC/Headphone Jack GIGABIT LAN & KILLER™ 1202 WIRELESS GAMING 802.11N + BLUETOOTH 4.0 Thanks, Yoshi |

I don't see the computer having any issues running this game at all. What site are you using to configure this? You can up the CPU, but the question is a few hundred extra MHz worth it for the cost? I don't think so unless money is no object buying this.

Website is:
www.pcspecialist.co.uk Laptop already ordered and arriving next Wednesday - it was a set deal, cos featured in a review, so it wasn't possible to modify - but very subsidised price. £1450, instead of £1600 which is what it would have cost through normal customisation options. I think it should be plenty powerful for almost all games, was just concerned if the CPU might hold fps down in big engagements. |

Ah I see. Well I wouldn't worry about anything, should be a solid laptop for awhile.

Oh, definitely. That rig should run PS2 and any other recent games quite well. 2.4 GHz and an i7 Mobile should punch past pretty much any sane CPU requirement for probably the next 2 years at least without even an inch of trouble.
Sheesh, that's a beaut. |

Thanks guys - good to know. It'll be arriving next Wednesday, can't wait to get into PS2 for the first time.
I'm browsing forums trying to work out what upgrades to get first etc, generally trying to educate myself before I get into this game in a BIG way lol... |
