The Never Ending story?

This has been adressed by many, "what is the point of this game?" Most answers say to capture every continent, right?

Well lets switch gears alittle, clearly on this map there are 13 continets or atleast land masses (including sanctuarys). Now since ten are free to all, but there are still 3 left, but they are emipire only landmasses, right?

How could the game end when the ten continents are conquered by one empire, but 2 other emipre are still at their sanctuarys launching droppods?

Why do you play quake/cs/tfc/tribes/unreal/whatever? Because its really fun to shoot people and brag later, thats why. Having it on a huge scale with objectives just adds to the challenge and the fun factor.

For those who HAVE to win the game, take it in small steps. YEA! WE WON this base WE ROCK! is fine. Better yet CONTINENT LOCK! BO YA (&#^*! Hell, just "man i just owned the max unit with my pistol" comments work too. There is plenty of winning.

Yea I know.......tho it would give you more umf to know your fighting for the gold.....

Tho like i care.....all I want to do is raid the enemy in my best friends Galaxy......that i stole few weeks ago....

winning is 4 ME is things that the enemy never can capture back, like bases, the enemy can capture the bases after u have hacked one, so u havent won that base. U could also do a continent lock, but then the enemy could capture bases at that continent also. So there is no winning.
In Q3/UT/BF/whatever after a team has won a match the other team cant win it back, well not without a time machine.
IMO the game should be winnable, when an empire has captured all 10 continents it would have won. IMO

I believe that map you have there is incredibly outdated.

why do you play other multiplayer fps games? because their fun. theres not really any other point to them than just that. besides i think that one empire will probably never gain a lockdown on all of the continents because as soon as one gets a signigicant hold the other two will get jealous and knock them back off

And I know it be just about impossible to get all continents under lock, but then it would put up lil more exitment, more umff...like if one empire got 9 coninets and right when they're about to conquer the 10th one, the other 2 empires takes several of your continents you gained few minutes ago......

Wait no that would be bad...it would empty the server........nm....this was never said.

PS is a neverending story yeah, theres not going to be an end to the war and you can never defeat your opponents..

Theres mini victories tho, ranging from killing an oponent, capturing a base, locking down a continent and beeing announced as the day winner whitin a category (most captured bases in 24 for instance).

Why in the hell would you want to have an MMO that clearly defines "You won the game!"? Let's put an example into this thought:

Vanu captures all the continents (cuz they're just so damn leet), and are assaulting NC's sanctuary. The Vanu win. Oh oh! All the players on the NC side get the Phux Sword! What can we do? Have them observe the rest of the match?

But yes... Winning teh game SHOULD be impossible. Sure, it'd be fun and kewl 4 u and ur empire (TR r0x0r NC sux0r VS gaysux0r!!!!111) to "win," but what if the other team did? You just gonna sit tight and keep paying your hard earned right to use your parent's credit card to play for nothing? I think not.

winning in an online fps is, for me, the satisfaction of knowing theres somebody at the other end of my barrel whos day i just ruined by mercilessly cutting him to pieces

Either way, other newbs will think that playin for fun is just a day at the beach on a rainy day and then ya gota pay for parkin anyways....

I said, I dont care, tho i didn't know if it was never ending or winners circle....since i herad of both, so i was supecting it was winners circle....so i was wrong.....dont start bitchin at me that i'ma sore winner, ok?

Tho that brings another thin to mind......i also heard bout clan tournements (not sure if its true), would it be to see who has the most continents at the end of 5 hours, or what?.......or is this a later add on thing?

I would just like to say, that that would be cool. If an empire actually managed to hold all the continents (imho pretty much impossible) they should be able to attack the sanctuaries of the other emps, lol. THen if they managed to conquer both of the other emps sanctuaries they should be declared a winner, everything resets(not a server wipe, just bases going back to neutral) but then that emp gets a major nerf like if it was really overpopulated. Then see how good they can do. LOL
