How about a separate column on the leader board that gives support players some credit, say players accumulate support points for every revive, repair completed, ammo dispensed and people deployed (from ams), these are then totaled up give us support player rankings.

Doesn't it do this already? My leader board is often filled with people who have no kills at all, or very few. There are still some who've got quite a bit, but the recent trend I'm seeing is players with a lot of xp and minimal kills. Its not separate, but seems to credit these players anyway.

That's not what the OP was talking about though, he wanted total points displayed, not each individual action. The current board is sufficient in my opinion. I don't need a break down of every single support action out there. Total score works well enough while keeping the board easy to read. Perhaps have it as an option to display full stats? That way those who want to see support action info can, otherwise everyone else can use the default board.
