I see that the 50 mile kill zone for magriders doesn't pertain to them anymore.

I have also gotten the orbital strike of a TR in my name.
For a while i was running above 600 grief but as i got beter at the game, my grief went down. I still of course get grief for morrons running into my Line of fire, but never that much. 800 sounds relaly high but im not going to argue with you about this or that. I do know i was in a similar situation in a reaver and i only got 100 some grief. |

If you didn't get grief for having your vehicle hit someone, griefers would constantly run people over. If you didn't get grief for being run over, griefers would constantly run in front of vehicles to force the driver to take a grief penalty.
Thank the witless turds who force this situation in every online game.

Yeah, but I had no chance to get out of the way. Otherwise I would have. I'm not some stupid who runs in front of other vehicles if he sees them. I try not to get killed. I like staying alive.

The strage thing is I get run over quite often and 90% of the time (possibly more) I get no greif for it.
I would love to hear some comments on vehicle collision greif however. It seems that when you do perhaps take only a sliver off the other vehicles health bar for a collision, you get massive greif. As for more effective looting solutions. When looting non energy based weapons (as VS we have it easy ) It can be far safter to loot only the weapon, run back to a tower/base, and have a favorite setup containing your usual favorite except with the looted weapons ammo type and an empty weapon slot. When you buy the fav, it will drop the gun to the ground, you look down, press G and you're set. I do this for both jacks and chains and as of late I end up using those two guns more than the lasher in the smaller fights where the backpacks don't instantly dissapear. (I think that is spelled wrong, I hate that word =D)

I was coming off the vehicle terminal in auto drive and right at the moment that I got control, my Lightning rear ended a Magrider someone had parked in the courtyard and along the auto drive path. In about 2 seconds I got over 500 grief before I could swivel the Lightning around and get out of there.
The grief system isn't perfect, and I can understand how hard it would be to think of every possible senario that might accrue grief accidentely in huge amounts. Over all I like the grief system though and if you're constantly in the high hundreds then you're deffinantly a griefer whither you want to admit it or not. I've used Pounders and Thumpers a lot and I've never raked up the grief that others complain about. Then again I was in the military and I know how to shoot and move around on the battlefield without hitting friendlies or getting hit myself when I want to. Sometimes it's fun to just rush in guns blazing though without having to worry about all that real world crap. |

90% of the time, any grief points i get are from my idoits running into my line of fire, and/or directly in front of me.
Too many people are so eager to get the exp. points for a kill, they will run in front of your line of fire to do so, i mean, come on!, im in a MAX firing missiles down a corridor at 3 TR's, and some twat runs in right in front of me. Not only does he become a bacon sandwich, but the TRs escape round a corner, i get greif points for whacking this guy and the sudden nearness of my rockets hitting something does me damage.... 800 grief points is a bit extream..... i dont think you should get grief points for destroying a vechical which explodes and takes out near by friendllys.... they should not be so close to the vechical....

Hi, my name is ChRoMeBuLLeT, and I'm here to call your bluff.
The ONLY way that you POSSIBLY got 800 grief from that, is if you had been nicking friendlies prior to blowing up the AMS+Two Prowlers. The system works like this, you shoot a friendly with one bullet, you get +1 or +2 grief points, the next time you do it, that +1 or +2 becomes +4, and each shot doubles the previous amount. If you shoot a Phoenix and nail a friendly Reaver, thats definitely +10 grief, however, if you shoot him again, you will get +20, regardless of whether or not the previous +10 has left your screen. So the way I see it, you get 10 grief, regardless of how many people you kill simultaneously. For example, I was being a general ass, and I Boomered the veh pad, killing 5, whereas I only got 10 grief. So you killing the Prowler, assuming they were both fully crewed, thats three kills per Prowler, plus the vehicle multiplier, that would come out at 20 grief per pop.. Unless you had blown up a friendly Reaver prior to this incident, there is no way that the grief would stack that fast. Bye, I have called your bluff. |

And , it could happaned like this : Prowler one blows up with driver, prowler ones gunner dies, prowler two blows up with driver, prowler two gunner dies... Could be any number of things...

i agree with shadowseed, as i also play as a MAX, and the amount of times i've sidestepped into an enemy tower to rain missiles down on the support coming up from spawn, only to have some gimp from my Empire run round me and straight into my line of fire (and where TR are involved, usually their Max's line of fire below) is bloody phenomenal...
whilst i'm not gonna say that i haven't got in the way of someone else's fire (which would be lying for anyone to say it, i mean we've all done it, even if it's by accident) then it seems daft to me to not pay attention to what the huge armoured git you're running round is doing!.. end rant Dym |

It is kind of strict. I recall a time when me and another squadmeat, er mate that is, were both blasting on an nme vehicle in our base and he walked right next to the thing and got him self killed colaterally. I got the grief when actually we both knew what we were trying to accomplish, destruction of an nme vehicle. Besides the grief, I got a mild chewing out from my dearly departed friend.
It was actually suicide if you ask me. |
