Today I blew up an AMS with 2 other prowlers firing at it, they drove right at it as I blew it up. The AMS exploded, then blew up the other two Prowlers. Since I got the credit for blowing up the AMS, I also got the credit for blowing up the prowlers. It was an instant 800 grief. This is not how it used to be, and I don't like it. The whole night I got occasional weapon's lock's for anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. I got off the first one right before an Outfit Op too, close one.

Hint for you....
Shooting at green names = bad Shooting at red names = good I have never received over 300 grief at any time in this game, even when I was a Pounder MAX for one week.

And can we know why you were still firing at the AMS when you had to know the prowlers were in the blast radius? Because you absolutly wanted the kills?
You should have stopped firing long enough for the prowlers to go away (if they're smart)... 800 Grief points is too much, but you had it coming...

Considering what detestable little vermin TKs and griefers are, I'm happy with a strict grief system. The devs know better than we do what kind of penalty is necessary to make sure it isn't exploitable.

Highest grief I've gotten is around 300 something. That was from when there was a huge zerg we were fighting and I was a burster max. What would happen is people would run in front of my fire, even though I stayed in one spot and kept on firing and they could see that. They would jump in front of my fire and the enemies so they would die almost instantly. The grief system now is based on I think how much grief you do in a certain period. Like if you normally get 1 grief from hurting a player with one bullet, then if you had gotten about 100 grief very recently, the 1 grief point you would normally get from the bullet would be alot bigger.

I've gotten 80 before basicly the same situation, but this was a harrasser, and a couple peeps behind the target that I did not see, I didnt think the harrasser was close enough, but apparently it was, but that was just for 80, but, damn 800, thats alot,
takes me all night just to get 400 using the pounder, but that was just once |

My squad got into a TK war with these asshats, and I didn't make 100 grief.
Then later I accidentally bombed a guy in that enemy TKer squad, and I was like, oh shit, they're gonna be after me again. I sent the guy a tell, and he was cool about it. |

Heh, my highest grief was 978, i always log b4 weapons lock, then just play on a dif server for a while. That was with a pounder and cycler max, and special assualt. I dont like to hold back in tower battles, if ppl feel they need to run in front of my max, they are welcome 2 but the wont get very far...It's their own damn fault!
Edit: I think all pounder max users should unite and do a massive attack thing that whenever friendlies run in front of them and theyre firing they dont stop. The reason most ppl run in front of you while your firing is because everyone is afraid of getting grief!!!! They know most ppl will stop firing! If everyone just kept going, wed have less idiots running in front of firing guns...who in their right mind would do that in a REAL war? Last edited by dscytherulez; 2003-09-07 at 01:24 PM. |

No I had not recieved any grief before that. Sentrosi, I know how to Play the game. Another thing, Prowlers can get going pretty fast, they came around the front gate just as I fired my last box of rocklet ammo, so I couldn't run up there and get the rocklets back or something. As soon as I fired my last rocklet I saw the two prowlers coming around the corners. I don't know why they kept driving towards the AMS when they just could have shot at it. So no I didn't have it coming, and no I don't deserve 800 grief for blowing up an enemy AMS, which blew up two friendly prowlers. Other than this I'd say the grief system is pretty good. But come on, 800 grief?

I do think greif when concerning vehicles is too extreme. Sometimes I am sitting, stationary, and a stupid magrider or thresher slams into me, and I get 20 greif for absolutely nothing. And then you have people who, while you're moving slowly through the courtyard walk into the side of your vehicle, causing greif as well. This isn't as bad since it only gives 1-10 greif. But seriously, the greif given for even tapping friendly vehicles is absurd.

I got 10 grief this morning for getting run over my a Basalisk in my own Sanc. I had no chance to move. I /appealed it. That was bullshit. Reaction time against a vehicle going 80 kmph that just came into my view is not very fast. I jumped. AND in fact, I cleared him when I jumped. I jumped over him, and still got run over.
