don´t scan magazine articles and put them up here!

pcgamer already politely asked us to not do this!
(we had already 3 or 4 people doing this)

and it was very nice, that they asked politely. they could have done it via lawyer. you don´t have the copyright.

but i understand why you want to post the scans here. the article is cool. it was in the us version last month and we had a lot of fun with it on the forums, and a lot of people who wanted to post it.

maybe basti will get the permission to post it, when the new issue comes out and pc-gamer doesn´t sell magazines with this article anymore. but i don´t think this will be before may.

but there is an extended article online somewhere, that covers all the stuff from this interview that didn´t fit into the magazine. will have to look for it.

edit: there you go: http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/02/23/pl...e-2-war-story/

oh sorry, i thought id checked the forum for this information, evidently i was being blind, sorry for the repost!

Edit: are you sure its the same article, couldnt see any mention of the points i outlined in that one, the article in the magazine talks about a hands on playtest by the writer (although with limited assets)

i am almost sure it´s the same article because everything you mentioned or quoted is in the original.

i live in germany and can´t get the pc gamer here, but i could read it, when it first got scanned and uploaded, until we were requested to put it down. so i cannot confirm 100%

but the +9 month assumption was in there for sure. and a nice hard to comprehend circle diagram of the factions weaknesses and strong points

ah fair enough, hope PC Gamer will post the article up on their site soon, doubt they'll let us post up scans of it until after the mag goes in general sale over here

don´t worry. planetside 2 will get enough media coverage this time. ps1 had almost none, but ps2 already had a lot of press and it´s not even in beta.

As for the Engine customization you can do on vehicles I must of missed that. I find that very interesting and can't wait to hear/see more about it.
It's about sandbox play. Do whatever it takes to get the enemy dead with the game allowing free thinking.

All of those have been mentioned before.

Personally I'm excited we can put explosives on something other then walls/dirt. They've said the Sunderer will be good for busting through enemy lines, just wait till I stick 10 boomers to the grill

I also hope they can be planted on a MAX's back

Actually, you can shoot standard rounds into C4 to your hearts content and it won't detonate. C4 is very stable, and requires a primary charge to set it off. Explosive rounds, on the other hand, are a different story.

But do boomers really use what is known as "C4" in our reality ?

EDIT: btw, if boomers can be placed on vehicles, I do not see why it could not be placed on soldiers. There is no way the second case is more unbalanced than the first one.

If drivers cant bail and drivers cannot trigger boomers while driving, someone will always have to die for the guy triggering the boomer.
If boomers can only placed on soldiers other than yourself, someone will always have to die for the guy triggering the boomer.

As it would require 2 people WITH teamwork (with one dying in the process), it would still be possible but less OP. It would be riskier, harder and funnier; both for the bomb runner and the trigger guy.

(the grief system would prevent the abuses while still allowing it to be done)
