Also mirroring an animation shouldn't be too hard as long as the engine hasn't been designed in a weird way. If it is an issue, they could always just mirror the first person view and leave the third person right handed only. |

They should make this possible in character maker screen (not something that you can switch mid-game) imo... I am right handed but I have some left handed friend and they would all prefer if they could play left handed characters.

Oh no... I just meant that, I know I eventually adapted. Shouldn't you also be able to, just incase they don't allow you to change to left hand? I don't know how hard it is to make it possible, but if it isn't something that requires a lot of work, I so no reason why they shouldn't allow it. I mean in CS it was just a simple console command to switch...

I'm left handed and left eye dominant but I could never get used to firing a gun left-handed, it just seems uncomfortable to me. I remember at scout camp when I was a kid it confused my shooting instructor because I could hit the targets left or right handed but prefered to use my non-dominant right side.
As far as games go, the only ones where I really had a problem with the left-handed vs right-handed argument were fantasy games. I am left handed with swords so it always felt weird playing a right handed sword wielder; maybe that's why I prefer ranged classes in fantasy games. |

Yeah I'm left handed as well. However, when it comes to swinging a baseball bat, hockey stick, throwing, or shooting a gun I am right-handed.
And honestly I dont see the issue with being able to change hands in a game. If they do add it, fine, but I would really rather them not waste any time on it. Last edited by Khrakhan; 2012-06-23 at 10:06 AM. |

As has been stated, most weapons are designed with the ejection port on the right side of the weapon. Anyone that has fired a weapon and taken hot brass to the face knows that firing left handed can be a pain in the ass. Hot brass stuck between the collar and neck is a distraction. Granted, lefties are preferable in breach situations for covering left, and some manufacturers do produce ventral and left ejecting weapons.

Well with the M4 your check was supposed to be welded right behind the charging handle, far enough back that your brass would really only hit your arm most of the time. What was far more annoying for me was getting hit with my buddies brass.

GRAW did this very efficiently and that game is like 10 yrs old. If they could do it on a shitty console then they could do it here. Will they? probably not.
and to who ever said that you can easily switch carbines and rifles to adjust to left/right is full of shit. 10 yr army vet here and that never happened. Lefties always had trouble, cause the ejection port and gas exhaust port came out the right side into the lefty shooters face. |

lol, I'm ambidextrous bitches!
Seriously though I dont think it will matter unless your talking about preference. The crosshairs will always be in the same direction no matter what hand you're holding your gun in. Last edited by willaguy; 2012-06-23 at 12:16 PM. |
