Please no zombies in PS. And who taught the dog from The Dark Crystal to type?

The number one feature that should be copied over from another game is the driver/gunner kill assist point system from BF3. If I drive a sunderer with skill, avoid enemy fire, and line up my 2 gunners for excellent shots... I should profit from the kills they make. I think dedicated transport drivers deserve the rewards.

I know there's plenty of BF3 hate to go around. Gods know they screwed up some things... but yes, my next suggestion is from there as well.

I think the BF3 suppression model is the most innovative and interesting system to go into a modern shooter in some time. My only caveat with applying it here is that the volume of stray fire in PS2 might make it untenable.

Eve online has warp interdiction bubbles to prevent your enemies from running.

I'd like some kind of roadblock or AOE glue for movement slowing so you can prevent trapped enemies from escaping.

Similarly I'd like cloaked scout quads. I know they were considered. I want them.

The Wraith does need to make a return... though that's not exactly borrowing from another game.

As far as the downtime goes....Alt Tab, this isn't an RPG it's an FPS...let's keep it that way..lol

I like the idea of assists points if they haven't been put in, similar to the way you got points for using engineering or being a medic.

I like active hacking. Mass Effect series, Blacklight Retribution, etc,.... Press E to engage hacking, but then you have to enter a code or something to actually complete the hack.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution had really great hacking as well!

I'd also like to see destructible walls! Imagine a engineer, HA and MAX being able to destroy certain walls to "skip ahead", though there would have to be some downside to it. Let's say that there's a setup time of a few seconds before you can break the wall or something and that after a minute or two the walls reform just like the vehicles spawn by nanites.

This would probably be really hard to implement and balance and would require remaking a few if not all bases, so it's not really valid in the game I guess.. Though it would be pretty badass!

(The game I'm talking about with walls is once again Deus Ex. You could break certain walls to take a different strategic route.)

Some things I'd want would be the ability to get virtually drunk like other MMOs allow if for anything just to mess around with unrealistic COF and weapon sway modifiers.

The other thing I'd like is balanced throwing knives which we've discussed in detail which exist in an unbalanced state in other popular games.

And I've always wanted hostile creatures which exist in almost every MMO game with no PvE reward. (See signature for complete explanation or read this thread where I gave some arguments).

The last thing I'd want is fantasy based implants (see signature) like some of the more realistic powers from Bioshock or Star Wars. The ability to essentially use your shield's power (or some other mana/energy pool) to cast abilities like telekinesis to grab rockets or shells out of the air. The ability to AOE heal by discharging your shield for medics for instance. The ability to transfer your shield energy to another player, or project your shield into a wall (removing the shield from yourself). It's worked well in other sci-fi type games like Singularity (time dialation shooter. Had cool stuff like the ability to guide bullets after they left a gun... hehe sniper). and really increases the teamwork and level of skill in the game. (Note, I'm not talking about offensive type "magic" like fireballs which people assumed I meant before).

There's tons of other ideas from other games I'd like, but those are the most important so I'll focus on what other people said:

I made a thread along this line a few days ago titled social "mmo" ideas. The reasoning was mini-games that players could initiate within the game anywhere either by themselves or with other players.

One suggestion brought up were shooting range type games with holographic targets. So players would click on one another and could initiate a target duel with whatever weapons they had at the time and targets would form at varying ranges and health and players would attempt to shoot them.

Another interesting suggestion was ATV races (or other vehicles when we have them) where players can initiate a race if both players are close on an ATV. The game would proceed to plot random waypoints in the map and players would race one another.

We've had numerous dual wielding threads and pistol ones. If you search for akimbo on the forum you'll see a lot of amazing ideas for utility based dual wielding. Holding a pistol with a medical applicator or engineering tool among other things. The ideas also include the more controversial balancing decisions like pistol and knife combos and how the accuracy and COF model would function. (Single vs dual reticules). It is an extremely complex subject for gameplay that many forum goers aren't up to debating, so you might just want to read them without bumping the threads. :P

Thread on the subject if you're curious. There's actually a thread for most of the ideas people are bringing up.

PS2 needs a 'Gems' minigame.

Titans from BF2142, the keybinds page from the original Planetside, the map making system from SW:ToR, the mele-kill animations of Deus EX 3 (human revolution?), the parachute cape of batman (ok, this one is a joke. . .. . mostly).

The advertising budget of Blizzard Entertainment plus the willpower to use it.
