Higby, like Easy pointed out, you said "as long".

So are Infiltrators on a limited cloak? That is going to make stealth play a bit difficult isn't it?

This type of cloaking will not be as effective. Your either fully invisible or your not i'm afraid. I've played enough shooters with cloaking in them to know that if your not fully invisible then people with good awareness just spot you an gun you down. In Battlefield 2142 for example the cloaking was nearly useless. Let you move around a bit at far away distances but once you got anywhere near enemies they just see you.

Same was true in the Aliens vs Predator games. In AvP2 the Predator was completely invisible if not moving. Which made it quite effective. In 3 you always shimmer an even spark from time to time. So it wasn't all that good except at a distance.

So yeah if they let cloakers use Rifles or Sniper Rifles then they will be a pain in the butt. But if they expect them to sneak into bases an sabotage stuff like they used to then nope. Wont work with this level of shimmer.

Oh wait. That's right you can't. He's cloaked.

Actually, since the sniper/cloaker (I call them snoakers) is one thing now, I can see myself doing it.

I haven't had the computer speed for the last five years to be able to do frontal-assault style gameplay, so I need the hide-and-wreak style. If the sniper is now folded into that, I can do that.

But, 12 frames per second, dropping to zero fps in a base battle, until that improves, it's sneaky certs for me.

I think that adding sniping to a low health class like cloakers is pretty brilliant. Keeps them easy to kill by anyone who starts to get close.

I tried various words as color codes.
Format: word

royalblue
blue
blood red
palegray
ffffff
00ffff
trollface
yourmomsaladyboy
thereoncewasamanfromnantucket
higby
tray
traak

Strange what color codes produce what colors.

Since the Higby color code produces someone who is almost invisible, I think we can conclude that Higby is actually a closet cloaker.

T-ray produces a predictably Vanu color.

The cloaking reminds me of the Predator. It's almost the same. I hope this guys can be detected or the none-cloaked dudes are going to get owned just like in the Predator movie .

i like it how BF3 makes snipers easier to be seen with their scopes shining...but not in planetside where an cloaker has an 8x8km map to hide on...he NEEDS camo.

Higby specified that this is a "sniper" layout. We have yet to see (not) the true infiltrator layout.

It's much better cloaking than what snipers used to have, which was nadda.
