VS. There will be no problem, very sure... I dont give a box of mud for any of the ideologies, but I am pro-technology, by nature. As far as my perspective, the Sovereignty existed before I joined, and those are the folks I fought with for years. My daughter also plays VS, so there is family in the faction for me.

Most soldiers, eventually, fight for more than an ideology, and I know a lot of the VS names, outfits, etc. The style and the feel for the faction is right, whether it fit me and I joined, or I adapted to what I chose, I dont even know anymore... but I do know I will stay.

thanks for correction I just read:
The Beamer is extremely accurate and produces little to no recoil. All V.S. weapons benefit from the lack of a concussive round. The draw back to having this high accuracy is the degradation of potency over distance. While conventional weapons have bullet drop, V.S. weapons suffer from a reduction in power over distance traveled.

And I tought the beamer case would apply to the rest of the weapons

The corporations didn't bring war to Auraxis alone. They had plenty of help from the other side.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the new lore. The old TR were fun to hate. This new stuff doesn't really give me anyone to hurl my righteous indignation at...not yet anyway.

Yeah. I'l be over here with my Jackhammer. Keeping mankind just the way it is, warts and all.
You miss the point. The Vanu are transhumanists, not fools indoctrinated by alien artifacts. The Vanu offer to rid humans of their weaknesses through technological enhancement while still retaining our identity. We haven't become a singular homogenous entity like some might believe. We've simply learned how to work past our differences, and learn from the varied opinions of others instead of rejecting them. While the Vanu appear to be zealots, we're no different than anyone that shares an ideal. The NC and the TR are zealots in their own rights. It's understandable that you don't share the same vision that we do. No one can convince you that our way isn't just one of many existing dogmas. You will not fully comprehend what we are unless you have experienced our view. We have all lived your lives and know what you are. If we knew what we came from and know what we are now, don't you think we would have gone back if what we were doing was wrong? The only thing separating you from the Vanu is your assumption that we are wrong. Once again, we can't prove you wrong. We can only hope you come to our understanding.

I'm loyal to my outfit Sturmgrenadier. If there was a faction that only had a stick and a rock and they decided to play as them then I'd be out there using my rock to sharpen my stick.

Honestly I think you are doing yourself an injustice if you don't try all three factions. For a while. PS1 has obviously been around for many years, and now and then I come back and try a new empire. At this point I have pretty decent characters on all three. And the fun part is that playing each empire really does feel like playing a different game.

This is the best advice here. I'm committed to the NC, just because I can't see myself playing another faction. However, if you're undecided, wait until you can play and try all the factions to see what one you like best. Don't pigeonhole yourself into one before even getting hands on with it.

EDIT: SO...It's come to my attention they totally rewrote the backstory for planetside 2. Can't say I'm pleased.
Republics appoint representatives. The United States is a Republic, though it more officially a Democratic-Republic because we aren't simply a house and senate but also an executive branch which is democratically elected.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/republic

Even reading this backstory piece here, the "level 2" measures were voted upon. Just because your "side" lost doesn't mean it isn't democracy

http://www.planetside2.com/news/feb3backstory

"“‘Level 2’ will give the T.R. military control over all fleet ships, as well as cause for random searches with the intent to find weaponry possible for the attack on Discovery-7. Those found possessing such weapons will be executed without trial. Furthermore, identification must be carried at all times, and curfew hours will remain in place.”"

All actions by the Terran Republic were instigated and forced by NewCon terrorists. The TR is obligated to protect its loyal citizens from senseless violence of corporate lapdogs.

Except those attacks were made by surreptitious instigators within the TR and consequently blamed on the NC to justify the clampdown of martial law.

I'll just leave this here: http://www.planetside2.com/news/may102012story

TECHNOLOGY EQUALS MIGHT!

Nothing pisses a person more off than being killed by a guy wearing purple
maybe, but Mace Windu got pwned by an old guy with a red lightsabre so confirms TR is the best choice.
