I never really hated the jack hammer but most people do. |

I really liked the shape and feel that a lot of the classic PS1 weapons had. I think that taking inspiration from that style is wise, because currently all of the guns in our screenshots and trailer all look like your basic semi-realistic rifles. Nothing wrong with a solid base rifle, in fact it could be amazing with custom attachments and tweaks to keep it fresh (a la medium assault + punisher).
When I see the mass use of "rifles" in the screenshots combined with the concept of "NC <3 shotguns" all I think of it this video: AA-12 Fully Automatic Shotgun I can't decide if I'd like the AA-12 or the Jackhammer design for the de facto overpowered shotgun. Its semi-real practical design vs iconic triple barrel epic design, in the end its all cool. |

Edit: I completely blanked page 2. I liked the full/medium/tight spread options of the Scattercannon. I'd like to see that on the JH. Both would probably be fine with the right damage value. Last edited by Vancha; 2011-07-20 at 03:51 AM. |

It would be interesting if they put a degree of separation between NC and Shotguns, then they could focus more on the magnetic rifle / rail-gun side of them. Because correct me if I'm wrong but the Guass was "magnetically" enhanced more or less right? And then weren't a few of the NC vehicle variants like the Deliverer "rail-gun" powered, or was that magnets again? Well I guess Railguns ARE magnet powered so its all really the same thing.
I'd be interested to see if there is room for a Railgun style heavy assault weapon that is both cooler/more fun then a jackhammer, and is also at all balanced =). They might be able to do it... Where does that leave some of the VS tech though? Just call them lasers or something black hole / gravity related? edit: I guess this was said before, in this thread even.
