So that BigFO tower in the concept art is the new air tower?
I would surely hope that it is a heck of a lot biger than what we had in Planetside... considering the posibility of 1000's of air vehicles landing (possibly repairing) and taking off. We would however lose the puzzle minigame of how to fit max mosquitos and reavers on the tower roof. |

I don't think we'd see a tower that holds thousands... a few dozen, maybe, though.
That base shield in one of those images looks rather pathetic IMHO - give me something like an eerie wall of fire any day To clarify, I'd like a barrier that looks like a wall of flames corresponding in colour to each empire, which ripples when friendlies pass through it, and angrily deflects enemies like a proper forcefield. All PlanetSide2 aircraft being able to travel super-sonic would be amazing. Plus...
Using up the energy for the 'hyper-sonic melee-missle attack' would only give two options left for the pilot to either fallback to regain gunner energy or super-sonic the hell out of there. I see that it could work! Last edited by Tikuto; 2011-11-02 at 09:21 AM. |

I love how we are getting to see a lot of variance with different configurations of TR helmets and masks and goggles. It seems like you will really be able to find the look that suits you most, especially with the additional choices of the three empires.
Interesting that medics and engis will be limited to certain types of cycler variant. I hadn't consider this possible facet of balance options. Just goes to prove that they are keeping a close eye on everything, I just hope that it doesn't end up stifling customization options too much. Bases and even towers are looking to be pretty epic. I'm so glad that towers are no longer cookie cutter variations on the same building. |

I'm curious about people saying that Medics and Engineers (the class I intend to play) get Carbine variants of weapons. Where did we hear that? And what does "Carbine variant" entail, exactly? I am, however, encouraged at one of PC Gamer's previous articles wherein Higby said (using the Medic as an example) that he could spec his Medic to lean more into combat, and be more of a 50-50 split between combat and healing, or he could lean his Medic heavily into healing, and be something more like an 80-20 split between healing and combat. (those numbers are my own estimations, but that's a summary of what he was talking about).
I'm definitely in agreement that Light Assault should have more stopping power than Engineers and Medics (and that's in addition to them presumably being by FAR the most mobile infantry on the battlefield). |
