the other ES planes behave more or less like vtol jets... the Scythe flies more like a UFO, it can move vertically and horizontally very rapidly, accelerates and decelerates faster, etc. It's slower than the Mosquito and less armored than the Reaver, but it has astonishing neck-snapping maneuverability.

Of freaking course the Scythe hovers. And of freaking course it handles like a UFO. Because that would be the coolest thing ever. It's like when we first heard they changed the name to the Scythe, we all automatically knew on a subconscious level that Scythe wasn't just a cool name, it was the CORRECT name for it. Even though we knew almost nothing about it, we all just knew.

I've said it before, some of the best designs are not created, they are discovered.

How does that work during playtests? Seems pretty noob-proof and OP compared to jets. Kind of like comparing the complexity of Microsoft Flight Simulator to the straightforwardness Descent.
