I do not know why so many of you feel like your "Owed" something just because you played for x amount of years. SOE owes you nothing.

Real quick before I start getting hate spam below me let me post my info.

I started playing planetside in 03. I have multiple accounts. I have spent just as much if not more then a lot of you on here maintaining both of those accounts over the years.

With that said, I do not feel SOE owes me access into the beta because I have been around for x amount of years. I could also care less if somebody who started a month ago gets in before me. With that said, I will be happy in just getting the opportunity to beta test the game.

Edit: Something you and everybody else on here needs to remember.

Beta Testing it is not a Right. It is a privilege....So lets be happy that we are getting in regardless of who gets in first.

you may be right, I admit it.
the 28th planetside 29 might have some exposure
but the day after veterans will be pissed.

And who you think will support the game in his first months,providing his view on the real PS experience?
someone among few who randomly found a key in a mag or the communities who supported a game for 10 years making a good 90% of the advertising process for SOE?
The former will run away at the first couple of bugs, labeling the game as rubbish on the mainstream channels,the latter will keep spreading the word of MMOFPS like a priest on sunday,making a ton of videos,threads and fan sites.
One thing is certain, we are discussing about this because we actually CARE for the success of PS2.

Couldn't have said it any better. Also an 03 veteran, and quite frankly it isn't about when you get into the beta; it's how well you do your job of TESTING the game.

Although I would put my flame retardant suit on mate, there are a lot of angry people on these boards today haha.

It's not about ME or YOU not getting in. i'm fine with that.I don't care if i'm out if i'm not subbed right now (wich is the case).
It's about a BAD choice.
if you give keys to random people expect them to provide crappy feedbacks.
I would rather see only 100 vets gettin in but being listen for what they are.
We are not rapresented by random PC mags readers.
I'm scared for the final product that's all.
I'm not demanding to be in just because we basically made the ps1 community,wich is the case,but for the project success.

So, if any of you guys are really hardcore fans then you'll go out and buy twenty magazines to increase your chances. Then build some giant street art using the planetside covers and weep in the middle of it silently until you get access, waving your hands and wearing your hand sown planetside tshirt and underpants... Higby... whyyyyyyyyyyyy meee... beta....*sob*

Choose to be happy! It doesnt seem like so long ago the thought of PS2 was just a drunken wisftul conversation that came up every year or so. And now we have beta on the way

Stop worrying about what the other Randoms who got a key out of a Magazine are going to post for feedback and worry more about posting what you find.

I can almost guarantee you SOE is more than likely going to pay more attention to the veteran players feedback then the randoms that got a key out of a magazine.

The magazine is there to help boost pops and spread the word.

Overall I wouldn't be TOO worried. It was dead easy to see in APB:Reloaded closed beta who had a damn clue about the game and who didnt in terms of feedback (cos the game had already been running for a while before it dead and was reincarnated).

I'm fairly sure same will happen here, the devs are likely to be easy to tell who actually has valuable feedback, not to mention the threads that make sense can easily be pointed, usually by the amount of good discussion they generate.

Just cos some 15yo PCgamer kid got in without ever playing Planetside doesnt mean that his "can we has dual wield MCG?!"+1+1" suggestion is gonna go through

eheh I hope not, but we already have the "Bloody Screen, So Real", Killcam, Iron Sight...

So far they did really good in making the community feel part of semething,hope they wont let us down once the beta starts.

No, that's understandable in a way.
But it should not surprise you that people wouldn't wanna join the community when a topic like this one turns into such a flamewar.

Well i'm newish and I know the angry elitist whateverness is all just excitement for Planetside 2.

(took some trawling to get here tho)

Just want to say i'm very excited from what i've been seeing of this game and I can't wait to pilot a galaxy!

Great work Higby and the team over the pond at SOE.
