He said that implants were like "buffs" previously from other games.

It makes sense to me because it makes implants effectively consumables and consumables are great economy sinks to help keep resources relevant.

It also means darklight won't be coming back, but it might have a short-duration implant that makes cloaked entities easier to spot. Or it could be a special gunsight that you get or something like that.

I wouldn't say that DL not coming back was exclusively the case.

We could potentially see it as some form of certification, meaning that if you wanted to use it you'd be giving up something for that class.

Alas, who knows?

Having toggleable or activate implants would still be a resource sink. I just found it odd that they're restricting the design to only passive ones. Seems like kind of a simplification. I was looking through some information to find examples of implants and I can't find any. Unless these are implant related:

The thing i'm not sure about is the single empire per server, i mean the idea is nice, but they know (and even admitted it there) that we'll just make extra f2p accounts for other empires. It's just making us have more passwords to remember and wasting our time switching, seems pointless

I dislike more than I like in this Q&A session.

Alot of the comments seem to be very random, typical FPS games. Is this what the Planetside community wanted PS2 to be?

Nothing in the comments thus far remind me of a typical FPS. Care to explain?

Keep in mind this Reddit Q&A was also for publicity for PS2. There's over a million people subscribed to that Reddit channel, and many will see it and discover what PS2 is all about.

So a lot of the questions may be repeats of what we the diehard community already knows, but the people just joining the PS2 picture will ask them again.

so no one else noticed that there is not one mention of playing PS1 anywhere in his gaming history?

its why we are losing so much of what a lot of us vets thought made PS1 memorable and different from other FPS games, they haven't had any of the experiences that make all of us love the original so much

Every time I see that big block of questions when I refresh the page I'm so harshed.

If I mailed in a bottle of whiskey instead of a PC Gamer mag would that make us cool again?

Each vehicle and class will have tons of customization and multiple roles to specialize in based on certification, so there will be role based things to unlock (i.e. being a surveillance focused infiltrator rather than a sniping focused infiltrator, etc)
But since there really is no specializing because there is no limit on certs, why couldnt you just be every kind of infiltrator in one? Is there some mechanic that actually makes us specialize that we dont know about yet? Continually saying we specialize when so far everything else we know says that we dont really do that, is confusing and can be very misleading (unintentional as it may be).

Would love for some clarification on this cause i personally love specializing and hate plain simplistic unlocks that function without limits for customization.
