Although as an alternative we could go with Gerhaldo Rivera's theory, that it was in fact the hoodie being worn (on a rainy night) rather than Martin's skin pigmentation which made him see the kid as being "suspicious".

Either way, none of this matters. Whether black people are big scary criminals or the area had crime in it, none of it makes it okay to chase someone down with a gun and shoot them.

Assuming that is what happened. You seem very intent on crucifying this guy.

What flavor does the media make their Kool-Aid with anyway?

I don't understand you guys. The 911 call clearly stated that Zimmerman was following Martin. The 911 operator said that he should not do that.

Soon after there was a confrontation and shots fired.

The fact that Zimmerman went prowling for trouble, then got in trouble, proves that this wasn't an act of self-defense. This would be a question if it wasn't on a 911 call and easily dismissible in court, but he CONFIRMED it. He was following Martin and thusly got in a confrontation.

He should be in jail. Even if you got evidence, you should not be judge, jury, and executioner. You can "be the cop" and you can arrest him if you're catching him in the act of some crime (vigilanteism), but in this situation it was a bad call.

I'm sure someone has GPS coordinates of that phone, especially e911 services.

And if he did give chase, that's right, it's not indicative of wrongdoing, but it no longer protects you under Castle Doctrine or most other self-defense protections.

I generally don't have a very high opinion of people who shoot and kill unarmed people for no good reason. There is no disputing the fact that Zimmerman chased after Martin with a 9 mm in his pants and a minute later, Martin was dead. Even if Martin had a brain tumour that made him turn psychotic and attempt to kill Zimmerman, if Zimmerman didn't try to play hero nobody would have been killed. So, yeah, crucify the fucker, because people getting killed is sort of serious.

And "the media"? The one news program I watch has mentioned this a couple times, but has spent far more time on the murder of Kenneth Chamberlain, Sr., by police officers. That killing is even more egregious than the murder of Trayvon Martin. So if you want to pretend like it's media sensationalism affecting my opinion, despite the fact that I watch no MSNBC, Fox News, ABC, CNN, or any other news shows which you're probably imagining I'm watching, start a thread about the 68-year-old retired marine killed in his home by cops responding to his medical alert bracelet.

Assumption, you assume two things: That Trayvon was unarmed (fists are weapons) and that he didn't give George a reason to defend himself. Remember, Martin was exactly the kind of little shit that would escalate a situation... because he could. Aka a teenaged thug4life.

There is no disputing the fact that Zimmerman chased after Martin with a 9 mm in his pants and a minute later, Martin was dead.
Except you dont know George didn't try to disengage.

Even if Martin had a brain tumour that made him turn psychotic and attempt to kill Zimmerman, if Zimmerman didn't try to play hero nobody would have been killed.
You assume that George did exactly that.

So, yeah, crucify the fucker, because people getting killed is sort of serious.
May you live in interesting times.

Sobekeus, let's assume something else, Zimmerman didn't know he was unarmed, felt threatened by someone who MIGHT be armed with concealed lethal weapons (which is a reasonable assumption in the US, isn't it?) and jumped the gun.

Assumptions can go all sorts of ways. What if Zimmerman made a few wrong ones?

(edit: note: what if, nobody but he knows)

Such a tolerant person. And he says all I post is inflammatory nonsense LOL

Let's not let all the facts out, just because he shot someone (most likely in self defense) he deserves to be crucified?

And stop saying that he was stalking and following this kid, because the simple fact is you don't know if it's completely true or not, you're assuming.

In fact, your whole argument is based on....again....a political ethos.

No one knows what really happened but Zimmerman and the few witnesses that have stepped forward.....actually in favor of Zimmerman's account.

Enough.
