Americans make more money than Canadians and pay less in taxes. My family is a family of surgeons, and some of my relatives moved to the US to work, where they make more than they did in Canada, and pay less for goods/services/taxes. It isn't easy to emigrate to the US, even if you're well-educated, but if your only concern is money then it's usually a good bet working there if you can. Thus the big "brain drain" thing that used to be an issue, where a lot of our highly trained people would go south of the border to work in the US instead of staying in Canada.

Since when are Africans not black? And people from the dutch antilles are not black? Cape Verdians are white I suppose? And people from Suriname aren't either I suppose? Aside from those part indian millions are black. Oh and those from the asian colonies: Indonesians, Moluccans and Chinese. And the North Africans are of course Berber people and arabs.

Plus we have deliberately reduced immigration because we are litterally full. Only Shanghai is more densily populated. Did you know we and Canada actually also had political refugees from the USA, because Bush made them feel less free and our countries are more tolerant, more free and more secure? That is right, they used political asylum as reason for immigration...
