Sorry everything needs to get some form of UAT testing to smooth out the kinks. Otherwise you just end up with a big pile of epic fail and a less than happy customer base. (regardless of how skilled the coders are)

oh i would be sad because beta experience is such a special thing!
as long as it is a real beta and not such a stupid marketing gag beta like most games do nowadays (bf3 anyone?) it´s a privilege to actually have some influence on the developement of a game, and i love to hunt bugs down and see them fixed shortly after they are reported! things like this almost never happen after a game is released. like some bugs in ps1 that were present for years (and still are). oh and the level of communication to the devs or GMs during a closed beta is just unmatched!

We coders don't need any help coming up with bugs, we do that well enough on our own.

The OP clarified that it's if the game is complete and polished. We've already given our ideas and the devs have listened. I'm surprised so many people wanted to just be in the beta. I'm excited to play and improve the game. If the game is already done, there's no need for improvement, so why would you rather play the buggy beta version over the polished, complete version?

If you really think about what the OP means, and asks, you may realize 3 options are all you need. Not every poll has to have 6 options, some things are much clearer than that when given proper thought. Last edited by Eyeklops; 2012-06-14 at 06:46 PM. |

There was no need for that choice, if you read the OP the game is finished and polished. Think a bit more hypothetical and the answer may come to you, if it doesn't, you always have option 3.

This wouldn't happen. So no, I would not be happy about them skipping beta. It would give all the news players a bad first impression with all of the bugs and imbalances, which would likely cause the game to have a lot less people playing it in the long run.

In the scenario I put forth it did happen. What say you now?
None of what you just said is applicable to the poll or the OP. I see the ability to comprehend, reason, and make an emotional choice about a hypothetical situation does not become us all. Last edited by Eyeklops; 2012-06-14 at 07:02 PM. |
