where do u get common pool weapons-it seems that I can never find them even when I get certified-or is it just me?

You get all weapons (including common pool) from equipment terminals.

Check out the FAQ or the manual.

Must be you cause you get more common pool weapons as you cert in different weapon categories and you can find them at the Equipment Terminals (like bladerunner said) or off of dead bodies.

I remember this problem when I first started, click on the computer terminal, and scroll down, so you get the FULL list of the weapons available.

(person who is still waiting to be 100% sure planetside will be fun to play) so do you need certs to use assault weapons when you grab them off a corpse? or only need the cert to purchase at a terminal?

You need to have that weapons paricular cert to use it off a corpse. So, a Heavy Assault Cert would allow you to use any empires Heavy assault weapon. Same goes for the other weapons.
