how to make movies?

I was watching the malvision movies the other day and i have a question......
How do you make them? is there a movie command contained in the PlanetSide engine or do they use a screen capture program? I have editing software so no worries there but I'd like to know how to create the movie first.
thx in advance.

Soixante.

To make a move you need.

1.Vidio Capture card (for pc)

2. T.V and VCR

3. Vidio editing software

You use the vidio capture card to record the stuff on the VCR

you then use it to put it back on the the PC which will take a while.

you then edit the vidio using the software

can this be done digitally? have two tv out/in cards? or say I use my tv out on my gfx card and plug it in to a capture card in the same PC (connected to the tvin etc.) then have a large (very large HDD) to store the media then edit it?

While it may be possible I think (having done this a bit myself with Counter-Strike) that the entire purpose of setting up the VCR/TV/Capture Card system is to relieve the gaming computer from the processing stress of recording. Also, it's a good habit for media designers in general to make a LOT to pool from. Recording a day or even a night of gaming directly to your harddrive would most likely hose your computer.

I'm sure there are other, more expensive, more rare, home-user devices that could do this better but I don't think that's what you're asking..
