3 different teams, 3 different specialties

I've heard alot of complaining about weapons that each team has.

Truth is i see it as this

Vanu-Outside fighters...their MAXs are agile, their vehicles are, IMHO, the best(Magrinder rules) and they have good long range weaponry.

Terran-Seige team. Lockdown MAXs can control entranceways, doors, halls, courtyards, towers, respawn tubes, etc. They can take out any planes who get near them and defend anything better then other teams

NC-Inside battling. The JH and the shield MAXs can breach any door to a room. Hell, 2 Shielded MAXs followed by a wave of 4 JH users can bust a hole right thru a door and into a base or tower.

Now, the issue being, Vanu are masters of outside battles, NC can whoop anyone inside, and Terrans have a mix of the two

Vanu outdoor weapons=Magrinder, Lancer, MAXs(4 MAXs hopping a base wall makes most people shit themselves)

Terran outdoor weapons=Striker(terrans outdoor are hardly a challenge, but when they seige down a tower they can eliminate alot of people and move out by covering fire)

NC outdoor weapons=Pheonix, Vanguard(pheonix sucks most of the time...standing there while seiged terrans launch rockets at you or vanu rush you isnt smart. Vanguard is very good and also serves as a good escorts...still gets ripped apart by magrinder and TR maxs)

Vanu seige weapons=vanu can seige? fuck, their knife glows, they cant even sneak around while ur taking over their base

Terran seige weapons=MAXs, Striker(less options, but more efficient)

NC seige weapons=JH(3 round burst as they enter a door or hallway will rip the entire opposition apart, however, lack of air defence leaves them open to attack, so they must bunker down into the base, which no matter what means the battle will end soon)

Vanu indoor weapons-Lancer(good damage...thats about all they got)

Terran indoor weapons=MAXs

NC indoor weapons=JH, Shield MAXs

Now, there may be discrepencies, but i believe for the most part everyone can see an obvious lack of vanu support in indoor and seiging precedures. Hell they cal slaughter u once u leave the base, but they have to fight 3 times as hard and drain our gens to take a base most of the time. The terrans are set everywhere, and frankly, im tired of their bitching. The NC have at least average support in all classes and have the ability to make a nice fallback to indoors and using the JH, can hold off the base for a long time...tower defending will be a bitch when they have NTUs though

am i on the mark or just a dumb fuck? opinions

Good assessment for the most part, but I disagree with you in some areas.

NC rock at air defense with their locking missile MAXs. Pilots don't want to come near any area with a couple of those guys holding down the fort.

And if TR Max's = their indoor balancing characteristic, then why don't VS Max's? When on the attack, TR Max's won't be anchored as they lead the spearhead of the attack, so in that sense a VS Max would work just as well.

Not to mention, to Lasher kills people indoors in about 3 hits since it nearly ignores all their armor. How is that not a good weapon? When people are attacking a couple VS with Lashers who are spamming their shots, they send forth a wave of death to the attackers that also blocks the attackers line of sight. It is a very good weapon for indoor suppression, especially with its "splash" effect.

Most medium assault VS will use the sweeper when indoors as well, which is not a bad weapon by any means.

actually, my issue is with vanu names i think i meant lasher when i said lancer

i considered the NC air defence thing, but wasn't too sure because of it's weak attack

VS MAXs are slow and just plain lack defence, thats why i dont consider them good for breaking into a base, but if used effectivly, they could get a great surprise attack and overwhelm the courtyard quickly

vanu max's have one MINOR advantage: their AV and AA modes have splash damage that acts like a plasma grenade that burns the target that gets hit by it

Here's the problem with outside/inside specialties:
The fighting that matters happens on the inside.

Until there's a control point in the middle of a field, outside fighting isn't all that important.

what are u talking about? vanu on the walls of a base are near about impossible to take down

we outnumbered vanu 3 to 1 today but they had a tower and we had an AMS, we had our rifles and they had their maxs and we fought for like an hour in the courtyard trying to break past the floating maxs. Once we broke into the base finally we wiped them clean...counted 8 JH kills in less then a minute

splash damage is a good point too. you have to fight very spread out against vanu because of that

Very accurate statement MJ. Oh and if you look at the numbers the Lasher falls well behind the other hvy assault weapons in time to kill, kills per reload, and damage per second. Hell the cycler has better DPS.

i like the part where the TR AA maxes dont even have to have u targetted or lined up to even kill u. im hiding behind a wall and cant even see the max with 4x zoom. oh yea and outside fighting ? big woopie doooo! surge + spam chaingun = omg im so good. oh yea cycler > lancer too, that gun is way to accurate coming from a "close range" side.
