Hey guys,
I just installed planetside last night and will start playing this evening. I was wondering if there is anywhere you can download the planetside patches online and then apply them manually. I have 56k at home, and I imagine downloading will take forever, but I have a T1 connection at work where it would be a much faster download. If anyone knows of any locations or if this is even possible I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! |

actually you can grab them from another source, bring in your HD to work, install the game on it, run the launcher, d/l the files, go home, copy the whole folder over to your computer at home, and there ya go!.
Found this out as we have a cap on our d/l per month, we d/l it once, then copy it to the other ppl that play it. saves on how much we need to d/l

There's no reason that you can't apply the patches by hand, and patches DO resume for whole files that you already downloaded as part of a patch. The patch program, assumedly, just does CRC checks on your PS directory and compares it to a master list from the last patch on Sony's servers. You should be able to just copy the files over yourself.

depends how many patches you are downloading...
I just got the game and it ended up taking over 4 hours to patch on a 600k cable connection... It seemed to be downloading each of the patches is sequence and applying them ( due to the patches being 'deltas' presumably ) So although it may only take an hour or so for each patch, to get 4 of them would take 4 hours ( or there abouts ) |
