Great battle - lousy XP.

Hack kept failing b/c we had no NTUs. Had to hack 2-3 times, all the while fighting off Vanu (some NC) and without another foothold on the continent for quite a while.

I fought for 45 minutes desperately keeping people at bay. It was exciting - maddeningly infuriating, but exciting.

Eventually we get the hack along with an ant run - I got some outfit guys to come in and they took heavy fire too.

For all my battling - and despite the (unfinalised) hack going back and forth between TR and VS - I got just over 1,400XP.

Does that seem right? Would we have got more if the vanu had completed their rehack? The base was full of people and I was there for a lot of 'slices' - what gives?

Don't get me wrong - it was cracking fun - but for all the crap we had to go through, it'd have been nice to get something a bit meatier.

I found the game is much more fun when i forget about exp.

If I'd been playing for XP I wouldn't have sat at a base for 45 mins which looked like we were never going to get - and a lot of that was spent running around reparing people, inc running around outside under fire.

I was merely dissapointed.

I agree with you.... weird how sometimes the most fun battles result in little exp.

My favorite battles are some tower stands in the middle of nowhere that are like 1 squad vs 1 squad. Little exp..but tons of fun.

I dont understand ppls problems with getting xp. You don't even need to shoot anyone to get 5000xp. Just be in the SOI at the same time your enemies are. If you cap you'll get good xp. Dont go after towers once you've established control of the base. Let the enemy have it back so they can send more ppl to the soi. And don't for any reason let your guard down at the CC. Rag on your CR5s to get ant some escort or a pickup. Better yet if you knew you were gonna be fighting for heyoka you shoulda hart dropped on solsar jacked an ant and filled up, brought it threw the gate, and left it in the bubble till you had an opportunity to cap.

As soon as we secure the base, I hack an AMS, set it up in the courtyard, and I don't care about the tower anymore. I almost hope the enemy takes the tower and mabe even parks an AMS somewhere close by. Gotta put that zerg force waiting for XP to work somehow.
