Are they ever going to start rewarding defense?

This really needs to be added, i mean sometimes you will fight to defend a base for hours, then get nothing from it but your kill xp which sucks. Any plans for sony to add this in

Hard to say...

But getting extra points per kill, in Your own SOI, would be nice. It shouldn't be that hard to implement either. Defending ought to be rewarded.

You get XP for reversing a hack. This comes close, but I agree, they still need more. Unfortunatly, I don't think they have mentioned anything on this. You might want to look through the future plans page on www.planetside.com .

You get the satisfaction of helping your empire do something meaningful instead of just getting XP.

It's often more fun, IMO, to try to resecure than to go grab a new hack. At a resecure, you're pretty much guaranteed a decent fight.

I think its more fun killing people and defending a base than trying to get exp, exp is just a bonus for me.

I like the idea of getting an xp bonus for kills made in your own SOI. SOE has said that they only want to reward people for actions that involve risks... well, I understand that, but they also have to understand that there are a plethora of things to do that can both majorly, majorly help out your empire and not ever net you any/much experience causing some people to avoid them completely...

This was sort of mentioned awhile ago, but I haven't heard about it in awhile.

I agree that the more XP for kills within your own SOI would go a long way to help.

I think this is one of the biggest flaws of the game so far. The other night we were fighting against a large TR zerg. Now they are moving in a straight line, and they just finished up one of our bases and were about to move on to the next. Now we only had a few people defending while we had a large force attacking TR bases from the other side. It was literally two large forces dancing in circles around the continent. The whole time I was there, they never met in battle.

This happens sometimes, and other times, the two forces go head to head for hours. Not sure why some days are different than others.

IMHO this should be near the top of the list just behind bug fixes as far as patches go. This whole "we'll just hack it back after they leave" mentality is getting very tiresome.
