Q&A with Danny Han

Danny Han took some time out of his busy schedule and did a Q&A with GamesDomain today. The interview was performed at i16, a European lan event. Here's one question and its answer:
GD: How do you see Planetside developing both in the short term and beyond?

DH: We have plans to do an expansion pack but our strategy is to maintain the game, add new features, address issues that crop up during the life of the game and look forward to more expansion packs. We want to keep people interested and always keep it fresh.
You can find the full Q&A here. (Sorry I didn't get this posted sooner, I've been busy all day.)

What surprised me was that the irrepresible Mr. Han essentially said "when and not if" as far as a console port goes. He even pointed favorably to the X-box. How that arrangement would work I have no clue.

(He also beat on the PS2 a bit... I have a feeling he'll be "demoted" fairly soon... )

Yes, either this man doesn't read the forums, or he is a liar. I like the game overall myself, but many many people have been displeased since release. However, he is promoting his product, and if he said " Well jim, Everyone has been pretty pi$$ed since each patch we release is a pile of untested garbage " he would probably get fired on the spot. No real way for the guy to get out of lying out his a$$.

Danny is a nice guy, talked quite a bit with him when i was out in SD. Not sure what he was thinking beating on the PS2

Although, it is a seperate division of sony. SOE is a division of Sony Pictures.

But Lise--he wasn't talking about a console port of Planetside. It was more of a general question. Anyway, it's impossible to port planetside to any of the current consoles, even the X-Box. If it is taking up 800 megs of RAM to run, nothing short of the divine could pry it into the Xbox.
