I've always gone with ATI. They have very trustworthy cards, and usually out perform nVidia.

NOW they are outperforming nvidia, a while ago..... no.

see ps supports nvidia so generally they are going to work better with ps. however id still pick a 9800 under these circumstances.

I am still clueless on why you insist on wasting your money.

Get the 9800 PRO with 128 mb or ram and save yourself $100.00

Games are not going to take advantage og those $500.00 cards its a waste of money.

There are still occasional lockups in planetside with Radeon cards. With the latest drivers on a fresh install, I have a system lockup about once every 3 days or something. Before I fought with my system, my machine w/ 9700 Pro was requiring a hard reboot about once every hour.

I lock ups are due to bad patches the SOE releases.

I have a 9700 pro and lock up once in a blue moon. However SOE makes some of the worst patches I have ever seen for making a game unstable, stable, unstable ect.

Ah, let the 2nd greatist desputed computer topic commence once again I see *1st is AMD vs Pent*

RADEON has caused me and many I know great pain and sufereing (does not play several games)

Nvidia has given me no problems and runs great, so ill keep using them until that changes

**sure, IF the radeon works, you can get a slight preformance edge over nvidia, but I have seen too many games not work to go for that, thanks **

I would go with the Radeon. I have 3 diff type of radeons is 3 comps and they all run PS great! Nvidia is still a great card but if I were you I wouldn't go with the FX series of Geforce! I have heard NOTHING but problems with them. FX series are not directly developed by Nvidia. They are an off company who makes them. Here is something I heard so this is hearsay but guildmate said he called the people who make the FX card and said he gets a lot of chop in PS and said his old Geforce 64mb card worked better and they actually agreed with him.

This is like asking "AMD or INTEL" or "Republican or Democrat" there are no winners.

I "prefer" ATI

Dude, Republican all the way. There's no contest.

I'm with ATI for bang for the buck however.
