below the minimum for video ram :(


i have a laptop with 16mb of video memory and i was wondering if theres anyway to get around this minimum since i really want to play this game but i dant want to have to buy a whole new computer to do so.

You're out of luck. Laptops are very proprietary. Best bet is to sell your laptop and invest in a desktop PC.

Well, even if there were a way to get around it I don't think you would want to. The game would probably run so slow and laggy that it would not be worth the monthly fees. I'll see if I can get any more information about it though.

The only way around it is to open up your laptop, locate your Graphics Chip, unsolder all the leads (commonly about 16 per side of a chip the size of a dime) without shorting any out, then carefully removing the chip and finding another upgraded chip that will work in the same socket configuration as your old chip, resolder in the leads, close the laptop and pray to the diety you hold most dear that it doesn't blow up in your face.

Bout the most slippery way around it. This is something I wouldn't even try, and I have 10+ years of electrical and computer building experience behind me.

Um, which producer's? This is not an official forum, not run by SOE, so this *is* the right place to post. People with 64mb of Video memory are having performance problems, so no one is lying to you about your laptop not being able to handle it.

yea and if u wanna play Half life 2 or Deus Ex 2 or even Doom3 youll need a new computer because theres no way in hell u can run any game coming out with that piece of junk
