What exactly is expected of a CR5? Can anyone tell me? Because all I ever see is people saying they suck, but never giving even the slightest specific mention of what makes a *good* CR5.

Don't tell me what they *shouldnt* do. Tell me what a CR5 *SHOULD* do.

A CR5 shoudl direct the forces of his empire on that server as best possible. When you gain teh CR5 title, you become one of the small group of leaders, leading your entire empire on that server. Some CR5's, which some i know, don't choose to use their abilities, as they don't think or don't want to command on such a large scale.

i would expect a good cr5 to do the following:
-NOT steal forces from other fights (ex: tr is getting raped on forseral, yet a cr5 is raiding solsar, etc)
-announce locations of AMS's.
-announce ANT's incoming to a base, asking for cover etc.
-arranging gal pickup for ant's, etc
-communicating with squad leaders, either thru /tell or command chat etc.

Good response. The most important thing IMHO is spreading information.. /tell the CR4/5 and let them tell everyone else.

Unlike, say, WW2OL, I don't think the game is really suited to "command" as such.. PS is too fluid, what needs doing is really pretty obvious (and the "Zerg" has a mind of it's own) and I think anyone trying to structure a campaign in their own image just gets in the way.

One other thing I'd ask the commanders out there.. please give just a little thought to lag. Sure, people being spread out might not fit your scheme of things, but three or four smaller fights usually result in a lot more fun gaming than everyone from two factions attending the same lag fest

Yet when we do use our ability there's at least a handful of stooges that send us tells like "stfu!" or "Don't tell me how to lead my squad!" Usually, these guys are maybe CR1 and think they've got all-mighty powers. Until a person takes the time to actually reach CR5 and put all the hard work in that it calls for, they should keep stupid comments to theirself.

I am working on CR3 and really love the situational support a CR5 gives. It's usually nice to see a huge cluster of enemies wiped out thanks to a CR5 using his Spy Uplink and then it getting rolled over by a few tanks.
