Since there is already plenty of talk about the JH and a thread on the new Lasher, I thought I'd give some love to the other HA weapon, the MCG. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it out on the test server and what they thought of it. Personally, I think that with the new changes, HA has been balanced very well. But I have to say the MCG seems to be the least useful of the 3 HA weapons, but by a very slim margin. I still like it a lot though. But now HA is balanced like MA was a little while back, all the weapons are useful at close range and not at long range, where MA is the opposite.

yea it's still probably the worst of the 3, however it's very much better than it is now... It'll probably mow people down almost as effectively as the JH indoors now (not to say the JH won't still own anything indoors) I was suprised at the fire rate of the lasher. That thing is a beast now. Overall I'm satisfied with what they did, even though I don't play more than an hour a week now.

Man the MCG is not the worst of the three HA guns, the lasher is, the lasher has slow moving bullets that are the easiest things to dodge. The MCG is a rapid firing fun that is awesome indoors and out, the only problem is that n00bs spray(hold down the trigger), so the CoF gets frickin big, all you have to do is NOT spray, only spray when your up close, and also, if the guy ur shootin is far away, that where the cycler comes in

I haven't seen it yet, but I think a longer delay before the COF gets too big will be a good boost for it. |

the MCG was equal with the JH before they fixed it...u understand now it kills people before the COF even expands? being within 60m i could effectively kill any troops in less then a clip, up close you can kill a MAX in 1 clip, but to be fair youd have to move pretty damn fast while strafing and still you'd only kill him if u hit him with 97 of the 100 shots...
ever wonder why people carry 2 JH? much quicker to switch to a second JH then reload this will be the new MCG process because 200 shots can literally kill anything in the game excluding an AMS |

The MCG was not incredibly effective in anybody's hands. It was moderately useful at times in the right hands. Watching that CoF expand so quickly in any and every fire fight made even controlled bursting near impossible due to the wait for the CoF to go back down to normal. Normally if you were using controlled burst fire you were spending more time not firing than firing, which makes zero sense. It's funny that people are already complaining about it being made slightly better when the vast majority of posts about the changes on the test server involve the lasher and how much better it is.

I created a TR account for the sole purpose of using it! It pwnz indoors and outdoors, and is effective up ot medium range! And Madcow, we're not complaining. Complaining is "Aw, man! They beefed the MCG!" What we're doing is more along the lines of "w00t! MCG b00st3d!" |

Despite how often any of you kiddies say "0MFMGFMG 1337 MCG 0wn4ag3 like 1337 s4auc3," the MCG will never be a more effective indoor infantry mower than the JH, or new lasher. First off, the MCG takes 10 shots to kill a reinforced I believe, and 12 until the COF blooms. The "uber" MCG argument in the mentality that the JH or lasher user is not dancing, strafing, or using cover, and that you have pinpoint perfect aim and recoil control. You can effectively break down the 3 HA's more specialized roles like this (keep in mind, they are all effective anti-infantry up close):
MCG: Mid-range suppressive fire, and movement control (better with more than one MCG present). lasher: Anti-squad weapon (esspecially indoors). It was already good at this, but now it's even better . JH: **thinks hard** whelp, seems it's only purpose is mowing down infantry, and as a result, I think it's a tad bit better in it than the other two HA's.
