Hey, i do not have the money to invest in a new computer, my system is currently 1400mhz athlon, geforce2, 512 pc-133 ram. My question is, is it worth throwing in a radeon 9500 pro and maybe 1024 pc-133 ram later on? Will i see a substantial performance difference? PS is playable in most battles now at med settings

You would notice quite a difference... although don't expect it to be flawless.

The big problem you have currently is the PC133 RAM. With a faster RAM type you'd notice a marked improvement (because each clock cycle the processor can have more data shoveled in and out of it), but that'd require a new machine.
A Raddy 9500 PRO is always good no matter what the situation, and more RAM would help some. Personally I'd just save my money and try to get enough together for a whole new rig entirely. Your basics look fairly anorexic at this point. |
