Uninstalling Planetside

No, I'm not leaving...you're not going to get off that easy!

I have to reformat my harddrive and reinstall WinXP. This will, obviuosly, erase everything on my harddrive.

If I reinstall PS, will I have to start all over or will I be able to continue where I left off. Since I BELIEVE that allmy character information I stored on SOE's server, I should be ok, right?

Any help would be appreciated.

Just FYI. I normally install my games on a different drive than my operating system. One thing I found interesting is that when formated my C drive(had the OS on it). And I reinstalled PS and pointed to the old folder on D drive... PS only installed the files it needed. It didnt overwrite anything which I thought was cool, because most games generally do overwrite everything. The install took 5 mins and I was back in PS that quick.

So yeah, I'd copy your PS folder to another drive or burn it to a CD and then copy it back after you reinstall XP. It will save a lot of time.

I believe the one thing you may lose is your favorites (LO's) and your game configurations. I don't remember for sure though.

Characters are stored server side, for obvious reasons, so don't worry about having to start at BR1 or anything. All your settings in game will reset however (favorties, graphic settings, controls etc.).

i install everything like half and half. i've got 2 60 gigs and i have 10 gigs free on C and 25 gigs free on my G drive

my computer came pre-partitioned with 10 gigs off my C drive for a system recovery drive, i'm not quite sure how it works, but hopefully it works automatically

I installed PS on my new comp, and the only thing I see different is that all you're kills are erased from the stats menu. They're still there on the offical site and all but you wont see them in the stas menu.

Revolver, I thought I would get that type of initial response, thus hoping that people would read and respond.
