PlanetSide worth the money?

Is PlanetSide worth what we are forced to pay per month? Why is the monthly payment so high? If you take 100,000 people, multiply that by $12.99, you get $1.29 million a month, and we all know more than 100,000 people play PlanetSide. And dont forget the $50 you pay for the game. I really dont see why we pay so much. Can someone please enlighten me on this? I feel like we are paying way too much. Anyone else feel like this?

Well, there's three years of development, the infrastructure costs...not to mention that Sony isn't in the business of having a happy fun time with us, they want to profit.

Bigger the Profit the better.

It does cost a lot to complete games. It also costs them some every so often in serve maint. Also they have to keep paying the dev's to keep making things better and add new things

All of the future plans with this game cost $$..big money! Guess they are making that money and frankly, It does not bother me in the least bit. Imagine what the server/bandwidth bills for all the backbones the tap cost monthly? Gotta be astronomical.

oh sry i couldnt find it but i didnt look very long, only about 5 pages i went through. but here are alot out there. and hey. if u dont wanna pay for it, you dont wanna play it plain and simple period end of story. why does everyone whine about how much it costs? we dont care! and even if we did, no one can do anything so i guess you will just have to miss a whole lot of fun.

think about this, if you go to an amusement park like 6 flags or something, you will pay between 15 and 45 dollars just to get in the place, then food and drinks, souvenirs... so around 60 bucks for ONE DAY of fun, and usually "one day" is about 3-6 hours at an amusement park, so planetside costs nothing compared to that ok?

damnit, if you think the games too expensive, please dont make others think the same way.

Theres alot of people involved in making planetside work who have some kids to feed. This game took a little bit longer than average to make, since its like a miracle a game like this is even possible.

If you cant afford $50 dollars and pay $12.00 the next month, you probably dont have a computer that can play it.

Its a nice game where you can play every now and then. Not a game where you have to spend hours to get fake money to get fake stuff that you lose when you die and get completley pissed off.

And another thing, if you play this game enough to complain that theres nothing new, you need fresh air, real bad.

laugh. dont have a computer that can handle the game? wtf does that have to do with anything. for one my computer runs the game fine, for second im building a whole new computer so gg there. anyways, ive played PS enough to see that its already getting repetitive. and yes, i use to play CS, but that has nothing to do with PS, i quit CS for PS. im not trying to change anyones mind and make them think they are paying too much, but thats how i feel, and most likely i will quit the game, cuz i dont think dropping that kind of money is worth it. but than again it might be with the plans SOE has for future patches. i voiced an opinion, but all you can up with is cheap bs that makes you feel good about yourself.

If you think there's 100,000 actually paying the monthly fee atm, your kidding yourself. Have you seen the server pops lately?

Regardless if you don't like the monthly fee, don't play the game. Simple enough for you? No amount of ranting is going to get them to lower it.

didnt realize i was ranting, but merely posting an opinion, and seeing how other people felt. obviously you all are not very bright because you think im against your or something and jump all over me. and like i just posted, odds are, i wont play anymore, and be the more intelligent person. but awwww, ill miss out on all the fun, but oh well, more money in my pocket.

I was seriously just posting my thoughts, reyem, i didnt even read your post. I just saw the title of the thread and typed crap.

Sure, these kinds of games are expensive, but theyre expensive to make and run, theres a server for EVERY continent, probably more. Usually theres one server in these games. That, plus the 3 year development, the people who contantly work on addin new stuff and plan things and the people who keep the game running loong after the games finished, thats pretty pricey. Im surprised we arent charged alot more, its a good thing alot of people play.

Besides, the people who made planetside are working under people who only want money. Planetside was orrigionally just a "futuristic fps everquest to make money" and it came a long way from there.

Seriously, this is a great game, some people are suprised a game like battlefield1942 is possible, well planetside is like twice as hard, were lucky it doesnt look like crappy looking everquest.

Personally I don't play it for the RPG portion of it, and when you think of it from a strictly FPS standpoint, this game is brilliant. I was never and will never be an RPG player, too damn boring, for us strictly FPS guys...if you have the rig this game is unbeliveable.

IMO It is worth every cent

PS has its boring moments too.

Personally, i beleive MMOG games are worth much more than what they are now per month. You spend $15ish a month for a game you get hours upon hours of enjoyment out of.

You could blow that $15 in one night going to the store.
