You asked for it, and it happened. Go to Public Test to see what I mean. The Lightning has its guns mounted on a 360� rotating turret! That's right! No more staring contests with your target! It seems the Devs listened and pulled through.

I'm glad they did this. Weapons should never be so limited in fire arc on a combat vehicle (Basilisk not included). Reminds me of how useless the old Harasser, Marauder and other chainguns were on vehicles prior to the 360 turret change.

It wasn't desperately needed - I�d rather have a little increase in armor.

I can see where the devs are going with this, they can't make the Lightning some amazingly powerful tank that everybody can pick up and zoom around and kill everything. It would make Prowlers obsolete. Still... just a little armor buff.

Okay i've never piloted a lightning, but i always thought it was a single manned tank, sooo does the new turn radius mean that the tank now needs 2 people in it, did it always have two people? Whats going on? My brain hurts I need a nap...

I'd guess that the lightning turret is mouse-controlled while the actual tank remains keyboard linked, just like before. Pretty neat, should make the lightning more combat effective in terms of firepower.

The maruader already made Prowlers obsolete (though with it's new 'nerf' this patch that's probably changed).

With this improvement:
3 lightnings > 1 Fully manned Prowler.

The Lightning is still a one man vehicle. However, to be able to rotate the turret, the "Use mouse to steer" needs to be checked out in the controls settings. If you in addition have a reaver, skeeter, lib or galaxy cert, you will need to check that box again to be able to fly properly (with the mouse).

It got beefed cause it can fire 360...wow I love your logic, you could do that before by turning and it turned pretty fast anywho...

Actually before the lightning had some problems firing with any real acuracy whilst travelling at top speeds. Now with speed being its major strong point, the lightning could really benefit from the ability to hit (or at least fire upon) targets after running past them. So now it isn't restricted to only hitting things in the front arc.
