MCG Boost

If the MCG needs a boost, then why do more than half* of the TR infantry carry it as is? Have you ever seen so many VS carrying Lashers? Could this be in some way remotely linked to the effectiveness of the MCG as is?

* - Not scientific, but valid anyway. No, I have no proof of such.

most carry it because itz either that or cycler and cycler iz ok but chaingun is better at close. i dunno i stopped using it till the patch and was just using cycler now ill get HA back.

From my perspective an equal number of VS are carrying Lashers. Both sides are using less HA weapons then the NC but there are plenty still to go around.

The biggest reason I use it 90% of the time? It's better up close then a Cycler and 99% of the battles seem to be at point blank. AND it is the ONLY weapon in the TR arsenal that can even remotely compete with a jackhammer.

I still can't understand why the Lasher needed the uber buff it recieved on the test server / this patch. Expect the official forums to light up with 'nerf the lasher' posts this week.

they carry them so when they find a dead nc, they could loot him of his jackhammers.

I tried the new lasher/MCG and I personally think the new lasher is still massively ineffective. The lasher still won't touch anything with surge on, and it's still very poor in any situation where there's even a remote possibilty for the target to dodge.

It's much better for killing MAXes post-patch, but if I could get my empire to all carry decimators, I'd much rather they use that than the lasher :P

1 Lasher in a hallway = nowhere to dodge without taking Lash damage.

2 Lashers in most interior rooms = nowhere to dodge without taking Lash damage.

I agree on the decimators thing, if more TR carried them they'd be better off with a better mix of strikers and decimators.

Of course the decimator in those numbers would make MAXs pretty much obsolete espicially with the reload timer on the alt fire mode.

I fail to see how any of these scenarios is different for a lasher and a MCG. 3 people leaning on the MCG trigger in an enclosed space is equally, if not more (due to the inability to dodge bullets,) effective.

The minichaingun is certified badass. I don't think it needs any more boosting, you can tell the difference to pre-bump.

I noticed in VR (i havent used it in battle yet) that with the new MCG i could kill the people that were close before the cof boomed. i mainly play VS, but on my HA user i always loot MCGs if i can. Its always been one of my favorite weapons.
