Firegun: Radeon 9500pro, if you can sqeeze out another $40 or so (click here for vendor/price)
If you can't, I'd go with an nVidia GeForce4 TI 4400 (click here for vendor/price)

Yea, for the 100-150 range the secret is LOOK HARD. There are always INSANE deals out on the net. You just have to look and be smart where you shop. Use resellerratings.com for sites you don't know.

Also if you don't mind taking chances on slightly used stuff, there are even more choices for getting higher end cheaper.

As for the 300-350 range, you can find 9800 Pro or 5900's in that range in pricewatch. Either will be excellent. If you don't want to go over 300, the 9800 NP is still a very good card and can be clocked up rather well.

Firegun my man, get this Albatron GeForce4 Ti 4680 Turbo (NVIDIA GeForce4 TI4200 GPU TURBO Version), here at New Egg for the price of $152.99 located here http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...ion=14-170-018 . You'll definently like that bad boy, and it fits your price range. Good luck!

It should prolly come down to personal choice at this point. I like the 5600 Ultra's decently enough. Question is if that Gainward is actually an "Ultra" board. So many 3rd party NV makers add on 15 extra names to the board you don't know what the hell your actually getting.

To me, it looks like a regular 5600/128 and they just named the board the Powerpak Ultra. In which case it will not perform as well as a real 5600 Ultra, which looks like they run in the $200 price range. If you look at pricewatch, the first board after a long list of the gainwards is the Albatron at $199 and this is in lines with the other 5600 Ultra's. If you use pricewatch often enough, you learn to compare ALOT. All of their categories are automatically populated with search strings for keywords so products are not manually categorized for a human who would know the difference of where something should be. Otherwoods the catgories are often mixed up. Pricewatch has some great prices, but there is no such thing as a freebie, most of the time.

If I were you, I'd get a MSI Geforce4 ti4600 for $150 range or a Radeon 9500 pro. Both are guaranteed to be very solid.
