First, let me say that I was a paramedic for 2 years and I normally like to play healing classes in games.
But I don't understand why I would pay three points for medic skill, or 2 more for advanced medic in this game? I carry three medkits with me already? I can loot plenty more, or hack a med terminal with my 3 points of hacking? Am I missing something? Are medics doing something else that I don't know about? Not trying to flame or bug anyone about thier class, just trying to understand. Thanks, |

Currently the only thing medics can do that noone else can is revive people from the dead. Only if they havent hit the respawn button. I say this because most people that currently play PS come from a standard FPS backround and as such go for the respawn button right away, by instinct.
Thus rendering the medic pretty useless, unless he constintly /l Om a medic dont respawn i can reivie you, and even then 75% of the time people either dont listen or hit the button by automation. Once people start conditioning themselves that you can be revived the medic will become 20 times more usefull, especialy when you have a medic in a infiltration suit!

well, since the recent patch half the time backpacks disapear almost before they appear, so medic is useful if you want to conserve medkits for when you really need them, or if your out, adv medic borders on worthlessness, noone ever waits, the ones i hate the most are the ones that release midrez, esp the MAXes that you KNOW will have timers. The only reason i keep it is because occasionally i can res some of my outfit mates.

I was wondering to all the other advanced medics out there, have you noticed anyone on your radar screen that needed Rezzing? I know that when I played for 2+ hours yesterday afternoon I didn't see anything showing corpses that needed Rezzing. This was confirmed by Cyrus, an outfit member, who died. I looked on my radar screen, and didn't see any sort of marker. He didn't click out to respawn either. Anyone else get this?

You ppl that think ADV medic is useless are useless. Any and all top producing squads have voice comm and multilpe ADVMEDs. Noone spawns till the last med is down. SL calls the spawnpoint. Thus, your squad stays together. Its really pretty simple i wish you ppl would get a clue. I find it funny that most of the ppl i revive that aren't squad or outfit are meds themselves. Why is that? Cuz they got a clue. If you solo them ADVMED is not for you. But everybody without exception IMO should have at least basic med. I use kits aswell cuz it takes time to heal yourself and kits are instant. But they don't last long and theres always the inventory space issue. two medkits takes up more space than a med app and one med cartrage and the med app alone replenishes way more health than just two kit. Sure you can scavenge kits. But theres not garantees that you'll find one. Plus, when rummaging threw ppls gear you are vulnerable. Whereas using the med app allows you watch your back and respond if some enemy gets to close.
As for midrez releasers... fuck 'em. Them idiots need to spend closet time so just let 'em. If anytime there would be a good time for one of PSs gay popups it shold be right here. When a rez is in progress and the victim hits the release button. There should be a popup which needs to be closed before respawn can occur. Popup could read "Hey fool, rez in progress are you sure you wanna to do closet time?" Yes or no. |

??? ok who actually said they were useless??
In a good squad and/or outfit, they are a key unit, but dont get me wrong, wasnt the first post asking in general, have your rant, but please make sure you dont target people that might not deserve your rant. Cheers

Yesterday I was rezzed about 12 times in one hour at one point.
Sure, I have to wait about 45 seconds for everyone else to push back the enemy; yes, that's longer than the respawn time, but: A.) I don't have to run back from the closest respawn point, which takes longer than 45 seconds. B.) If I happen to be in a MAX suit, I don't have to wait for the timer to go away. C.) I don't have to run back from the closest respawn point, which takes longer than 45 seconds. P.S. did I mention I don't have to run back from the closest respawn point, which takes longer than 45 seconds? |

Let's see...for the normal medic, I think the applicator alone will deliver more healing than 3 medpacks. A grunt can carry one emergency medpack, and heal himself with the applicator. The advanced medics in my outfit are the best; when you're stuck holding a CC, medics are the best force multiplier (keeping eveyone healed and in the CC).
Oh, and while I'm not currently an advanced medic, I did see the medical crosses on the radar when I died, and I just stopped releasing. Cheers to all the medics. |
