Directing planetside to critical files on a Virtual Drive?

I'm thinking about setting up a vitual drive through ym RAM so that i can load PS faster. I am thinking about going about doing this by putting critical files that need to be ploaded quick, or maybe even the whole directory(another story), onto this virtual drive.

So if i put just critical files onto this VD, how would i tell my planetside directory to look in that drive?

Not sure if this helps, but might lead you down the right path.

In linux, you can preload things into ram. It might be possible to do so in windows as well. I am sure there is some app out there that can load things into RAM w/o havign to use a virtual drive.

Using a virtual drive would double the memory requirements as you would ahve two copies of everything in memory.

you don't understand. I want to MOVE certain files, not copy them. I'm asking if anyone knows how i can tell my planetside directory to look on that drive, though.

I am not entirely sure what you are trying to do here, sounds dangerous.

I'm trying to create a virtual drive through my RAM, which i want to put common PS files on, for faster access. I want to find out how to tell my PS directory to look on that drive.

get it?

I have no idea why you would want to do this, It would probably create more problems than actually make the game faster
