Any successful Rocklet users?

I picked up Special Assult a while back for the point of trying out the Rocket Launcher. But upon using it I was extremely disapointed by it's inaccuracy and extreme griefing, so I retired it and picked up a Thumper. Has anyone out there actually managed to effectively use the Rocklet Launcher?

The point is, the rocklet isn't meant for ACCURACY. You fire at the ground of the target's feet and not at their mass. At their feet it does the same amount of splash damage so I'm sure if you try it that way you'll find that the rocklet rifle is an excellent tool of...slaughtering. Jackhammer still owns it, though.

I think this thread is going to turn into a "Who has been killed by Hamma and remembered it," thread. And I hate reavers, so I carry 2 decimators with me.

I have become VERY effective with the rocklet rifle. It is great for multiple purposes too. Don't get this gun if you don't like getting in your opponet's face. I mean close quarter's combat, with guns. When firing at an enemy soldier, don't aim for their body. Aim at the ground around their feet. Sniping with this gun is a no no . Highly inaccurate at long range. It's great for indoors battles becouse if the enemy is close to a wall, good by. If you are in a situation with mass enemies, use the alternate firing mode. This will fire all the remaing rocklets in quick succesion, at the cost of a minor delay. I have found this usefull for many things. Defending a tower stairwell with lots of enemies coming up. Unlaoding on enemy vehicles at close range is fun. Even shooting at a hovering reaver at long range is usefull, even though you most likely won't hit it. It usually backs off from the base after it know's that it's been noticed. Another reason I love the rocklet rifle, MAXS. I have killed so many MAXs you wouldn't believe it. I use the alt. firing mode at close range, use my surge to ge the hell outta there (get around a corner, another room, tree, etc.) Then use my Advanced regeneration and repair (no matter what you gonna take damage going head on with a MAX) then rush right back in to finish him off. I love all my special assault weapons. In a battle with lot's of vehicles? Go grab a Decimator (Although any of the three will do fine). A haven't found the thumper useful for much except for griefing but it has done some good for me when I'm in an indirect fire situation. Overall, the rocklet rocks.

Yah, the Rocklet rifle is good, but, IMO, it lacks versatility.

I don't mean versatility of it's usefulness against all targets, I mean it's ability to target them. The Rocklet rifle, although it has a good sized splash, doesn't retain very good indirect fire capabilities. Put yourself in the situation I was in last night: ~30 vanu in the room 'round the corner, spamming up a disco (lashers). If I peak, I die, Hmmmm, what should I use? Lol it was pretty funny. I run over to the cert machine, unlearn Heavy ass., learn special ass, and but my self a Thumper loaded with plasma grenades. I walk over to my previous spot, unload a months worth of thumpings, and I walk away happy with my 13 consecutive kills. Had I tried that with a Rocklet, I'd be discoed to death.

The rocklet rifle was successful in racking up more grief then I usually get in a week!

I know some peoplecan be very effective, but it doesn't go well with my style of play.

Like I said, the rocklet isn't good for indirect fire situations. Which I don't get into very often to be honest.

Revolver, what's your BR and CR?

Surge around a corner and stuff 2 Deci rockets into a MAX. No better way to take one down.

I'm glad they balanced the Rocklet's primary fire with the clip dump mode. Now there aren't as many rocklet n00bs running around, I found that more annoying then the Jackeduphammer
