*looks at the specs*
heh *runs away into far corner and laughs and comes back* Your HDD, Video, and Cable modem are fine. The major factor in PS is your ram and processor speed, I used to have 256 in my machine My frame lag was horrible, it took a very long time for the levels to load. Then I got 512 and everything went smoothly after that. I would seriously recommend 1.5+ gighz processor. Definatly 512 megs or 1024 if you saved enough money for it. Your pretty much set if PS would run on your system with EVERYTHING turned off or very very low. If you have to get a new motherboard get one that can set you up for at least 2 processor upgrades ahead. Your HDD will be fine until they come out with Win XP 2004 which would require 30 gigs of space just to install. |

I may just get the game anyway, even if it is on the very lowest settings. Im just going to buy a new comp, Ive been looking online all morning and cant seem to find a good deal on one. Maybe you guys could post some links or something if you know of any good deals.
Thanks, CS |

And I love the ram prices there... A few months back (while in beta) I noticed that I was paging quite a bit with 512 megs of ram, so I upgraded to 1.5 gigs and have not had a single page while playing Planetside since. Squick PS... Here is my latest purchase... I have a Thunderbird 1.1Ghz that is oddly hot, even with a stock heatsink using the goop right it still was getting up to 73C, WAY too hot... So then I bought this bad boy, and even at the lowest fan setting the highest it goes is 30C now... And if you need to blow some leaves it will do that for you too http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/35/429.htm?580 (Max. Airflow: 20.55 ~ 75.7CFM) |
