Max Hunting

For the first time since getting Special assault last night i had a sudden urge to seek out max's and unload decimator rounds into them.

They were all Vs max suits last night. and nothing pleased me more then seeing a Vs perched happily on the roof off the interlink facility taking potshots.. thinking iam quite safe up here..

*boom *boom

ouch.

Has anyone else had this crazy urge to take max's on head to head.. cant say ive had more fun. Alot of people out there last night looking at a 5 minute timer. lols.

Just a quick side note. I saw a friendly last night repeatly hunted down and ran over by a friendlt lighting driver.. it was out of spite because they had an argument.. i dont think its very nice..if i see you at it again ill unload my decimator clip into your trunk

u know, its a much better feeling to kill a max with a gauss rifle at point blank range, in good condition too.

Yep, once you get your hands on a Decimator, MAX units don't seem all that scary any more. Happy hunting!

I find myself doing this all the time. I used to die to MAX's when I met them in a hallway and went one on one with them with my striker. Then I decided to give special assault a try just cause I was gettin bored of the same certs. Once I tried out the decimator and took out a MAX in two shots, I decided to never go back to AV again. I feel so powerful when I have one of these things around, which is almost always now.

The Decimator definately has some advantages over AV. But the Decimator is really best for MAX killing. Sure it does plenty of damage against vehicles, but it does have the ammo capacity, or speed/control of the AV weapons.

Yeah getting a clean kill on a max is fun... today I popped out of the spawn tubes and found a TR max waiting there for me... I equipped my standard rifle and paraded around him and he and no clue what was happening. Eventually I killed him with a few full clips, and damn it felt good. A competent MAX wouldn't have let that happen to him though, he just stood there going around in circles trying to shoot at me, rather than running around and making me alter my pattern.

I took out a few skeets, a reaver or two. even a lone Nc.. rare as hens teeth these days.. tides of purple i tell ya lol.

Must have been crappy pilots. One skeet was hovering a few metres right in the middle of the base.

he was damaged already so 1 round finished him off.. i always though of the skeet as a hit and run vech, not really built to hover in a field of soldiers and take them on.

One Vs max jumped onto the rampways surrounding the base.. and turned the cornor.. i was on the other side so he / she was hidden from view because of the staircase. I didnt see them emerge either side so i figure they jumped off again.. so i jump across and peek around.. there it is sitting there filing its nails.. So i promptly put an end to its untimley grooming

. I have the most fun jacking ams's right out from under your pitiful asses. Yesterday I jacked one, and all the NC just stood there, staring at the AMS that was now red and black. It was weird, they didnt try and re-jack it, they didnt try to destroy it, they just stared at it.....

Hunt MAXs with a Decimator? Come on. I choose the Jackhammer as my MAX hunting weapon of choice. Nothing is more satisfying than going one on one with a VS MAX in an open field and winning.

The only MAX worth fearing in the game is the pounder. For those, by all means my special assault friends, have at it.

I remember seeing a base being hacked last week, and went in only to find a Squeeter and one MAX sitting in the CC. A couple of friendlies were there, warning me that they'd tried rushing in to hit him but ended up dying from his NC scatter cannon and there was only a good three minutes left on the hack. Figuring it was an Inf who hacked the base and switched to a MAX, the three of us rushed in there... one with weak armor went down right away, while the other fell back with little health.

After sending a clip of AP sweeper rounds into the MAX, I heard him try firing and, sure enough, he was out of ammo. While I hacked the base back, the other guy came back freshly healed and blocked the door... where we proceeded to knife the MAX until he went down. Though I can't recall his name, we tried sending him a tell but he apparently logged off...

This statement right here proves the Jackhammer is too powerfull. All a NC has to do is use the secondary fire mode at close range, and your dead. I don't think ANY HA weapon should be good at killing MAXs. 4 guys with Jackhammers gaurding a hallway is just as good as 3 MAXs gaurding a hallway. Instead of improving the other HA weapons, they need to just tone the JH down, A LOT.

Well I can tell you for sure that the Lasher isn't as good as a MAX-killer as people put it out to be... put me up toe to toe with a MAX and I have a lasher, the MAX will win if he's not retarded. Assuming that every shot hits him directly (not a "lash"), then it still takes at least a full clip to do him in (tested in VR). Unless you are REALLY good at strafing + shooting at the same time, you're either going to have to stand there for that kind of accuracy and take a beating from the MAX, or you're going to be dodging and strafing which hurts your accuracy a bunch.

That's completly untrue, the Jackhammer, first of all has the ability to switch to AP ammo, unlike the lasher. Secondly the Jackhammer on secondary-mode sucks, it is much better to use the first-mode just because you get more shots fired quicker, and it is more accurate. Please do not start a "Nerf the jackhammer" thread again, you guys had your HA beefed up(quite a bit,) now quit complaining.
