What's up with my system clock?!

For the past day I've noticed that my clock (in the taskbar) tends to run fast. All the time.

So I downloaded a program that syncs my clock with the atomic clock (and I know it works, I've used it on previous comps and it always works). But for some reason, if I sync my clock up, 2 hours later it's already 35 seconds fast (or so..). This doesn't happen on my other comp, I check the clock and it stays completely accurate for at least a week. (And even then it's only like 5 seconds off.)

The only thing I can think of that would cause this is to have my processor running at higher-than-normal usage for a long time. For the past two days my CPU has been running at 80% usage (for a distrubuted computing program) (except at night, I shut this one down at night).

just did a mini-test with it..

I sync'd it with the atomic clock, then waited 20 minutes. Sync'd it again and it was 6 seconds off. that's ..... not good.
