Every once in a while, while playing Planetside, I notice these little things that stand out to me. Like how there's a refridgerator and a bank of sinks behind some of the respawns. Or how if you get out of a dying vehicles at the EXACT right time, you can survive it's explosion. Or that very flat, smooth rocks damage your vehicle as much as running into trees. Or that there seems to be a consensus among people that the best way to go AFK is to crawl into a body of water as far as you can without losing oxygen, and crouch. (I have screenshots of some people from opposing empires doing the same thing that I had conversations with).
What are some little quirky things you've noticed about Planetside?

i like the beds below the break room (the break room is the room next to the spawn). WHO'S GONNA SLEEP? i also think the aliens in jars instead of a break room in some of the bases is cool. I think that's what the vanu looked like.
Also: there are fire extinguishers EVERYWHERE. yet, no one ever extinguishes plasma damage.

When someone runs upstairs, once they hit the top of the stairs, they appear to others to continue to sort of fly up in a diagonal line parallel to the stairs. The person who appears to be flying up will behave normally, not knowing that he looks sort of strange, though.
This flying up stairs thing can be a major pain in the ass when fighting in towers, because while they're flying up according to your client, they're actually somewhere beside you instead, shooting you. I've died several times because someone flew up the stairs, I shot the air where he appeared to be, then all of a sudden my client updates or whatever and he's right beside me, just finishing me off. |

This only happens to me in HUGE tower fights. We'll be trying to take a heavily defended tower and we'll get close to the door. I'll rush in firing my rocklet gun and go out the other side. If I crouch close to the wall to heal myself, the bullets will start coming through the wall and hit me. Therefore I have to back off from the wall to heal/repair myself and I'm out in the open as Jackhammer/Lasher bait.

yea, you know how people sometimes buy badass cars, or cool big things to make up for something not so big, but infact really small? well i think thats what happened when a dev put this in the game

And this one time, at band camp . . . . errr Plantside
The situation, driving along a sunderer at top speed (em, isnt that a contradiction in terms? oh well) and I see this NC in reinforced exo. He doesnt see me, I head right for him to run him over, and well I do go over I go up at a 45-50 degree angle taking my front wheels off the ground and then my front wheels go down and my back wheels come up until I finally get over him. I got a crush kill but I didnt realize that I had run into the speedbump from hell lol Wish I had taken a screenie. MidnightDave |

If you're driving up a hill in a Magrider or a Thresher and it becomes too steep to climb, the vehicle will start taking damage until you back off onto more level terrain.
Mines, boomers, Spitfires, and motion detectors are all considered "armored", so you'll actually kill them even quicker with AP rounds. It's fun playing "bumper boats" in your sanctuary with a group of Deliverers. Ceryshen only has one bridge, which I call the "superbridge" as it's easily the tallest bridge in the game. I mean WOAH. And, if you put an AMS on it and angle it just right, people who spawn from it will immediately fall off and have to walk all the way around. (I found that out accidentally). By the way, if the Lodestar can carry AMSes, then you'd probably be able to deploy that one on that rock formation.
