I belive CR should be earned, not gained like exp.
A vote system where you would need a certain number of votes from people to gain CR. Eg. you lead a squad and they think you did well, they have a button on thier screen that allows you to select if they are a good comm or not. then that comm would get one vote. After X votes they would gain a CR. of course things like multiple votes would not be allowed. This would mean any high ranking CR would have lead alot of thier sides people at one time or another. This also makes the CR more well known. as an example: 15 people required for CR 1 (thats about 2 squads worth of leading) Now the numbers would raise exponentionaly for example 50 ppl for cr2 (equivilant of about 10 squads worth of leading) and go up from there, of course the other issue you have to look out for is large outfits, since they would be able to practicly make everyone in thier outfit CR5 etc... not sure on how to limit this atm.. will think of it or take suggestions

I like that idea Intruder. Then at least the commanders wouldn't (most likely anyhow) be some smacktard who got to the high ranking position just by gaming a lot. That doesn't make you a good commander. The commander would be someone you could trust. Of course there would have to be some more guidelines to the rules to help eliminate (or eliminate all togther) the exploits. I give you my vote for this CR exp thread...+1 to your CR score for thinking of this system.

Try getting to CR5 by leading 10 person squads. When I say leading, I don't just mean being in the #1 spot. There's a big difference. I think most of the Terran CR5's on Markov have earned their position ten fold, but there's always going to be the minority that seem to slip in.

The system is fine the way it is. If CEP and BEP had been rationed correctly from launch, there would be no incompetent CR5s that just skated from SOI to SOI for the first week of retail.

Yes what does stop these 100 "assholes" voting for eachother?
As I did say in my first post.... I am open to suggestions on how to limit this... This is only an Idea I got at 6:30am with 30mins left till I finished work... What I expected in replies was constructive critism or ideas on making the idea better. But as usual.. dont get many of those.. Sure you may think the current Idea is good, or this idea stinks, Im not after your personal preference, I was hoping to ask a community who I belive are not full of "assholes" for some assistance in fleshing out an idea that I had. Now for the people that wish to help me figure out ways of improving this idea to the stage that it might actually work in game... please post away

i like the idea, but it does have some flaws - i guess you could possibly make it so your outfit simply CAN'T vote for you, and you have to be in a squad of people for X amount of time or X amount of base hacks before you can get a vote.
That wouldn't be to bad since it would create more teamwork in the fact that a SL leads you, you vote for the SL and give him cr4 or something.... |

Time idea is a good idea, perhaps there could be a squad point system (kinda like outfit points) so that when a squad hits X amount of points, then the squad gets the ability to vote. Maybe... there could be other benefits with Squad points.. {ok i'll leave that idea for another thread )
I think not allowing your outfit to vote would either: 1. cause alot of problems 2. People would just leave the outfit, get voted, then get reinvited into outfit.

Now thats pretty good, of course people would probably wear the 24hrs, after all they can wear the 24hrs for forgetting a cert. Of course organizing to have all the outfit on in one 24hr period would be very hard.. good idea

But isnt the whole point of being in an Outfit to have people to group and play with? We have a couple people who really want to get CR5 within our Outfit, so they are usually always the leaders in our squads. Excluding Outfit members from voting would cause them to a) Leave the Outfit until they can get CR5 ( ) or just forgot about CR all together. ( )
I cant really think of anything better. Perhaps keep the 'voting' system in, but your only allowed X number of votes every 24 hours. To receive votes from squad members you would have had to been leading for X hours (an hour?) and the members would have to be following you for X hours. (hour, hour and a half?) Easily exploitable and nothing more than a timesink, however. |
