LLU on the test server

We are releasing a new patch to the Public Test Server today.
1) LLU is available for testing. Description of functionality is below.
2) The Lasher and Starfire adjustments continue testing.
3) The Find Waypoint Button will no longer be available to HART passengers.

This build will contain the first stages of our LLU implementation for testing purposes. There are certain functions in the LLU model that are not yet fully working, but the core functionality is there and we wanted to give you the advance opportunity to test it out.

For a facility to be captured, the Lattice Logic Unit must be taken from the hacked facility back to a randomnly determined friendly facility that is only one lattice link away. Once a Control Console has been hacked, the Lattice Logic Unit appears randomly in one of the Lattice Logic Module sockets that are spread out within the facility. The LLU will 'pop' as soon as the hack has commenced. The carrier will have a limited amount of tiem to do this.

Once the LLU appears, an attacker can pick up the LLU by running over it. The player will then be marked as the LLU carrier - the LLU does not take up inventory space. MAXes by default may not pick up the LLU. Likewise a player carrying the LLU may not switch to MAX armor from an order terminal. Though a cloaked soldier may pick up and carry the LLU, his cloaking with not work and he will receive the HUD message, "The LLU interferes with your ability to cloak". If the soldier was cloaked, it will turn off. If the soldier tries to cloak, he will receive the above message.

Now the LLU carrier appears to be glowing and also appears on the proximity map for everyone to see. Since the LLU is not a physical inventory item, it may not be stored in lockers or vehicle trunks. The carrier cannot drive any vehicle, but can ride as a passenger or gunner in any land vehicle (but not aircraft).

The friendly facility that the carrier has to take the LLU back to is one that is one lattice link away and secure at the time. If there are no secure friendly facilities at the time, then the base will not be an LLU base, but will use the current Hack and Hold. If there are multiple friendly facilities that are secure and linked, then the destination for the LLU is chosen at random. Naturally if there is only a single friendly facility then it will be the destination. Once the carrier has reached the destiantion they will apprach its control console and hit his action key. If the facility is secure then the facility is immediately captured and the attackers receive the Facility capture XP.

The defenders will have two options for resecuring the base. Either stop the carrier from reaching the destination COntrol Console or make their way into their own CC room to resecure, just like the current model.

These are very condensed instructions. We will be answering questions next week after the system has had some time on testing and writing up instructions based on final functionality.

The bases that will use the LLU capture model will be:

Solsar: Bastet, Mont, Thoth

Hossin: Acan, Chac, Voltan, Zotz

Cyssor: Aja, Chuku, Gunuku, Pamba, Tore

Ishundar: Enkidu, Irkalla, Neti

Forseral: Caer, Neit, Ogma

Ceryshen: Nerrivik, Sedna, Tootega

Esamir: Mani, Vidar, Ymir

Oshur: Rashnu, Yazata, Zal

Searhus: Laka, Ngaru, Sina

Amerish: Cetan, Mekala, Sungrey

Oh great, my head hurts from just trying to understand this, hopefully it will be simple enough, seems like there's alot to remember. And it's also hard enough to remember which bases use it and which ones don't, this is going to make things more complicated. Oh well, I'm going to see how this works out before I complain about it.

Whoba dooba what now? That just went obove and beyond comprehension, so how do you secure the base then? if you need to do that to get the "uint" and what if some asshole prick fucker, picks it up and dosent go anyware with it or hides with it..

on the continental map there's 2 flags next to each base showing which are capturable by LLU and there's 2 small clocks beside each base which is the classic "hack & hold."

the LLU Icon shows on the continental map so u can track its movement. you pulsate yellow when u pick it up. also, when u pick it up a HUD window pops up with the countdown from 10 minutes. I don't know if the squad see's this or what since I was solo doing the run from Neit to Caer on Forseral.

when u get to the friendly CC that ur supposed to go too all u have to do is hit G at the CC and u capture the base u pulled the LLU from.

there are also global msgs that show

"kidRiot has the Neit LLU blah blah Caer blah blah 5 minutes left!"
"kidRiot has captured the Neit LLU for the Terran Republic!"

something along those lines.

from what I could tell there's 3 possible spots an LLU can spawn.

BTW, Kidriot, Delta said thanks but no thanks, he wants the movie to be Black Hawk only. thanks though, really its a recruitment video, but it dosent foucus on recrutiment, so all will be able to enjoy, and the scrpit owns any script for a PS movie ive ever seen

I don't know about exp. the one time I encountered 3 Vanu @Enkidu on Ishundar I didn't get any exp for capturing the LLU.

I don't understand why some people ph34r change. This is going to add variety to the game, something it could really use as it is now. If everything goes as the Devs planned, it will also inspire more fighting outside of a facility, which isn't a bad thing either.

I would love to test this out, but when I got home and logged on, the server was dead. I understand it's a test server, but geez.

Hopefully the next playtest will get some folks online so we can actually test this out. I don't want to comment on it until I've actually played with it.
