soon as I can afford it (prolly next week) i'll be buying this game. it is tons of fun for me.
i play on Johari/VS as a Sniper/Scout character. I made it to BR7 CR1 so far(I don't REALLY like leading...but i will if the need arises) I think i am only now JUST getting over my nOObiness, and i am really starting to enjoy sniping. I've discovered that 50% of Sniping in this game is positioning, and the other 50% is shot selection. I am learning not to waste shots, and to only take sure hits..but it is an exercise in extreme patients, and i don't get many kills...i find that i am normally the one who gets a foe down to half health, and then watch as someone closer finishes him off. i don't mind too much. i am still having lots of fun. i have also discovered that I absolutely suck as a dogfighter. so i am sticking to scouting only, when it comes to mosquitos. i tend to enjoy sitting on top of a tower, looking into a hostile base and the surrounding area and pointing stuff out to my Squad leader, and taking an occasional snipe shot. scouting is pretty fun, and very needed, i'd think. the Bolt Driver works well as a set of binoculars. I haven't gotten all the game tactics quite down yet, but i am learning. and yes i still get lost inside the bases when i respawn....takes me forever to get out of the base lol. but overall, i am having good fun on Johari, and i am going to go buy the game, and hopefully become as feared and respected as some of you guys. if you see me in game, please don't be afraid to invite me to a squad...i won't screw up THAT much. Welcome to the community...one tip tho...in most situations sniping from on top of the tower may not be smart...see if you can find a hill or somthing with trees etc..for cover..that way you wont be as obvious other than that have fun..hope you stay with the game..

I live and die with my trusty Bolt Driver. I have no need, nor want for this "Lasher" you speak of. I abhor big, heavy, clunky, 'make me run like a snail' weapons. I won't say I am the greatest or the most skilled...but I will say I DO have a small bit of skill. enough to do my job. I am only new to this game, I am not a total nOOb to FPS, and some skills from other FPS DO carry over to this one.
1) I am ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that there are NO AIRCRAFT anywhere near the tower. 2) The tower overlooks the Base with a clean unobstructed view, and offers a hiding place from Base turrets. when I am sniping for real, looking for kills, and not scouting, I do just about exactly what you suggest. one nOOb tip I'd offer on sniping is to never stay in the same place for any extended period of time. Even if you move from one tree to the next, you can keep the enemy off balance...chances are once you fire, SOMEONE will have seen where you shot from. so get out of there and move somewhere else. a little to the left....a few trees to the right..doesn't really matter HOW FAR you move...just that you do. I am still trying to remember to do this, and sometimes i get caught in a 'comfort perch' and killed. most of the time when i die sniping, i die to aircraft or fire, usually after an enemy alerts the flyers to the general area I am shooting from (not neccessarily the exact position). then a reaver comes by and carpet bombs that whole area, and hopes he hits me...and normally does if i don't see it coming. speaking of...i gotta learn to listen, and recognize different sounds, like the distinctive sound of a JackHammer. |
