Angry Play fine, CTD about 5 mins in, every time!

after attempting to fix the jerking when i look at new scenery in game, i got it sorted and from now on, it always crashes to desktop about 5 minutes in all the time, its annoying. ive got no clue what ive changed to make it do that. but i think it "could" be my sound card. i changed audio settings too.

System Spec:

Windows XP Home,
ASUS A7V8X Mo-board,
AMD Athlon XP2600ghz,
Geforce 4 Ti4800SE,
Sound Blaster Live Value,
512mb Crucial DDR PC3200 RAM,

please help, i wanna play it!

p.s ive seen the posts in this forum and others about getting more than 512mb or RAM, i cant really. so please dont tell we thats what i should do, unless there are no other options.
thanks...

Are you sure your CPU settings are correct? I had the same problem when I first built my machine (first Athlon I ever built) and I had the multiplier set too high. Double check your settings there.

oh, lol,

i think i figured out what it is,

i changed the sound settings to Miles 2D, and it doesnt CTD now.
i do have a pretty crap card so...
thanks anyways.

another problem, i have 512MB of DDR ram, and planetside jerks in-game when i turn to look at a previously un seen part of the world, it has to load to load the textures, ok i turned pre-loading textures in advanced video options to Low, and it helped, but are there any other ways of making PS run more efficiently on that amount of memory?

Well I have DSL too, sometimes when I respawn at an AMS, everytime a turn it lags while it has to load, but after a minute or so it's ok

yea that happens, it aint that bad.

but can get annoying in firefights, when it lags, it can stop lagging then i notice i was killed during it.

i wanna know if there are any proggys or things, to free ram, or improve performance.
