I was playing my infiltraitor yesterday, and was standing infront of the C&C in a tower, and another infiltraitor shows up(same army as me, NC) and runs into me a couple of times, then decides that I must be an enemy infiltraitor and procedes to kill me..
When I sent him a tell asking what was going on, he said that he had his names turned off to help out with th lag, so he won't die...
Man, you'd think that racking up the grief points would have been enough of a clue that I wasn't the enemy, but he finished me off...

How many people play without names off and does it actually reduce lag noticibly??

That's just plain stupid. He played you, he's a Tker. Who continues to kill somebody after the first shot gives your grief? TKers! Either that or he's the most ignorant player I have ever heard of. As for no names helping with lag, it might add a couple fps, nothing noticable.

I hope you killed him at least 10 times after that. Honestly. That's absolutely ridiculously stupid. Names would be such a tiny bit of information being relayed I can't imagine you could actually tell the difference.

That guy was a TKer for sure. I mean most honest (non TKing)people may have fired at few rounds then stopped once the grief points popped up. I know if I make the mistake and have the time (not being in a heavy battle or squad needs me) I will stop what I am doing and heal/repair ya if I can.

Put him on your friends list to see if he's online, then when he is type /who (insert his name here) this will show you what continent he is on. It would still be hard to see what base he is at but narrowing it down to one continent should help some.

Names defiantly won't reduce lag, maybe back when computers where the size of a room cutting down on words would help, but with computers that bad how could they run planetside? TK'ers are so annoying... I hope you find him

if not showing the names does effect if he lags or not, he must be on a 286 or something. i used to run on a Geforce 2 with 256 RAM. it didnt help for me. and names are the most important identification tool especially for infils.

also, the grief potential is just too much to even bother with it.

Maybe its a bug but sometimes when I run down to towers, a max will be invisible at a equipment term, I run to the terminal and stop short, I know something is there, usually I'll whip out my amp and pump a round just to check (infil char not br 12 yet so only surge), if it is a invisible max then i see the 3 points of grief and stop.

Sounds like your guy is just a normal asshat tk'er.

Reminds me of a squad I was in the other day. I get in and this guy tk's me with a cycler. So i go running around looking for him in a base waiting for hack to finish. I find him in front of the main entrance and kill him in front of about 5 of my squad mates milling about. One guy says...

"hey man you just killed a teammate!"

"yes...yes I did"

"uh ok, just making sure you knew"

Lol I kept waiting for him to shoot but thats all he said
