Ive romped and stomped pretty much all over the place. Ive pwned Cyssor. Ive crushed the blue horde on Hossin. Ive gotten lost and winded (from all the running around) in all the gorges on Ceryshen but still came up on top. Ive stood right at the sanctuary warp gate on Forseral, doing the single finger salute (The list goes on.)
But I have never gotten ANYWHERE on Solsar! I dont know why. No matter how smart we play, what forces we bring we always either gets stomped right at the start (I find it damn hard to get a foothold on the continent, coming from Amerish), or we reach about halfway (ie cap half the bases). Thats it. It could be that we overestimate our force, that we apply the wrong approach/tactics, or that Im simply not around when the Vanu actually do win here I dunno. When I hit Solsar the outcome is always the same. Were always driven out. Stomped flat! Spanked! Solsar is the only continent that I have never conquered. - Do You have a continent that You have yet to win, or that You always find very hard to get anywhere on? |

The two continents i've always had the most trouble on are Hossin and Esamir, i think we've capped Hossin twice and Esamir once since release, that i have participated in at least.
Esamir battles are just total bloodbaths where you cap a few bases without resistance, and then down comes the zerg and your outnumbered three to one and in a fighting retreat for the next few hours as they slowly shove you back to your warpgate. There are never anywhere near enough Terrans on Esamir and it can get very demoralizing very fast. Hossin on the other hand, is a fight from the very first tower. The NC always fight back rabidly from the start but there are usually enough Terrans to push them back at least to Voltan. It's always a great fight around Voltan, but that is invariably when the Hossin plauge shows up and flanks us, because the Barneys can't stand letting people have fun and always have to crash the party. Even still, sometimes they will be pushed off before they can gain a foothold and if were lucky a few Terrans will go off and cap the first base over for security. When that happens we can usually shove the NC right up to there warpgate base and have a blast doing it, when it doesn't, the continent falls apart around us and we are stuck hiding in Voltan (everyone loves Voltan, holding it is like holding solid gold) with nothing but massive minefields, heavy air patrols and a few guys with Cyclers trying to hold back the mechanized horde of the NC. Also a small observation, anyone ever notice how, with the exception of a few brave, some might call them suicidal, Prowler crews almost all Terrans use ground vehicles for nothing more then transportation and let the Infantry do the grunt work, while the NC always seem to fight from vehicles and tend to use Infantry to mop up. It's obvious around tower sieges, when Terrans are attacking a Tower, it's a horde of Infantry with a few Vehicles, when the NC are attacking a tower it's always surrounded in vehicles. Anyway, thats probably why Hossin in so troublesome, because it's a map that seems to favor using vehicles to batter your way through key chokepoints and then deploy lots of infantry, where we just attack with infantry and have trouble punching through.

VS use a lot more vehicles percentage-wise than NC or TR.
*cough*Magrider!*cough* Not saying that is a bad thing. That is probably VS's biggest strength. Even stronger than the Vanguard(only because its better at anti-infantry, and infantry is 75% of the game roughly). If the VS have a tech plant on a continent, you either pray you have a vehicle, ce, or the wall of a base or hill to shoot from. The only continent I haven't conquered is Amerish, due to the devs weird idea of Warpgate placement to put the Solsar gate dead in the middle between VS Sanc and 2 Warpgates to TR home continents. It only takes an hour before TR and VS forces meet in the middle: Verica. And NC gets pushed aside like a ragdoll lol. |

Searhus because there never seems to be any good fights going on there.
And Solsar is our baby. I'm suprised you got 1/2 the bases. Everytime hacks start there I swear it seems like every one of us online tries to head there. It's kinda like Amerish with the VS. As soon as a hcak starts VS poor out of the woodwork from nowhere

I can't ever recall seeing the Vanu on Markov take Solsar. We get hammered every time I join a group that tries to land there. I'm not sure what the NC is trying to hide there, but it must be important and they keep it secret.
I think we personaly lay claim to Esamir and Amerish on a daily bases though. I see the NC and occasionally the TR take most of them once in a blue moon, but for the most part they stay purple and we like to keep it that way. |

I fight for NC on Konried. I would have to say Amerish. The Solsar warpgate is in a very very bad place. Basically for any NC forces that try to take Amerish, if you want your attack to survive, take Verica first, and make sure you grab the Kyoi tower (I think its out in a field, closer to Verica than to Kyoi I think), because if you don't thats where the VS or TR will respawn their troops.
Basically once NC start on Amerish, the TR and VS are on us within about 15-20 minutes (they must really not like us). Another thing, for any NC forces that try to take Amerish, you may encounter VS and TR forces that won't shoot at each other, just you NC, they like to double team us on that continent (and just about everywhere else). Whenever I see an NC offensive going on Amerish, I always leave where I am and head to Amerish. I swear I will see that continent painted blue. NC Rules! I play TR on Konried and kick ass on solsar. Why, just last night, my squad and 5 others perpetuated in the lock of solsar, we had the 5 do the timed hacks while my squad would start a timed hack at a base, rush to an llu base, and cap in, while the timed hack is still going. We made it down to Sobek/Thoth before encountering resistance, then we capped Horus, which we held for about an hour, being pushed back, finally, we lost mont but we had more help by then, and it was a grand old fight.
I have capped every cont at least once, but Oshur is the hardest because its in the middle of nowhere, its small, and its a zergfest. |

One continent I have yet to succeed on is Esamir. Maybe I havent won just because I dont feel like going there. maybe because the vanu usually have us held off at Hossin anyway...whatever the case, I have yet to see more then 2 NC bases on Esamir.

Amerish seems to be NC's nemesis on Emerald. I have only seen it taken over maybe 2 to 3 times ever.
I remember my squad I decided to take a shortcut through Amerish one day (WG hoping). The continent had been locked down by the VS all day. We decided to start taking misc. towers here and there along our route. Well damned if they weren't getting rehacked right behind us. We swung by a base, one where we could see down into the courtyard, just to see if there were any enemies. Assloads of Vanu were everywhere. It looked like they were having a damned convention or something. All sorts of ground vehicles, and we saw dozens of reavers/skeeters flying around all over. The only enemy pressence on the cont was my boys and I. What the hell were all of them doing there? I think the Vanu use Amerish as a sort of chat room or something. Man what I would've given for my OS at that moment. YFor you guys that find this hard to believe, check it for yourselves someday when its completely locked by the VS. As for Solsar, Cyssor, or Hossin...threaten the NC homeland and you will be owned. |
