I made a new char, and didn't bother going to VR for the extra two points, but I camped up on the Mont basewalls on Solsar, and attained locks on Reavers, and unleashed an entire clip, he afterburned away from high up in the air, and the rockets followed him to his demise.
This thing is lethal if you know how to use it. /endmyopinion |

The Sparrow is effective, but more with scaring away reavers and liberators than destroying them.
Their missiles are fire and forget, but the whiners complaining about it forget that it take time to achieve a lock, even if your target is right in front of you. Overall, it's a well balanced unit, highly efficient in it's role (Air Cover), but slow to move in readiness state and usefull only AA role... Besides all thoses who stay stationary with their reavers only get what they deserve

Lib's and GAL are the onlyaircraft that one magazine can not take out, unless they were already damaged.
before the latest patch getting lock was much faster, when for 2 months you get used to that, then suddenly it does not happen and obtaining lock is now harder, that gets a person frustrated, but I found that if I hold the recital and just fire the first shot, with out lock, it'll lock faster, so any more it seems I always have to fire a dummy shot 1st so I can get lock faster. The sparrow is still good, but the burster is better now (if anchored down and close range) It's just not as good as it used to be. |
