Best Air Vehicle

So what is your favorite? I prefer the liberator, as it encourages teamwork and is quite devestating in the right hands.

A good mosquito pilot can take down a good reaver pilot ANY day.

Well I prefer the Reaver for what I use if for but it depends on what you want to use your aircraft for. For example if you want a transportation aircraft you wouldn't get the Reaver you would get the Galaxy. And if you want a bomber you wouldn't get the Galaxy you would get the Liberator. And if you want a motorcycle that flys only to crash get the Wraith and go off of the Ceryshen bridge.

Very well put. Ok, if you like taking down other air vehicles, fast and evasive transportation, and a great vehicle for scouting, then get the mosquito. If you like taking on vehicles, destroying turrets, and a little more armor, then get the Reaver. If you like bombing get the Lib, and if you want a squad support vehicle get the Gal. I all ready have an AMS cert and CE so I have enough Squad support items for now. With the skeeter, I can take down any other aircraft (including Gals), drop on top of a heavily defended tower to provide intel, and sneak in from above, drop right at an enemy base's back door and sneak in to blow the Gen, and I can get anywhere quickly. It all depends on what you like.

Well I've tried the galaxy, the reaver, and the mosquito. I haven't tried the liberator because I think it is definently a cooperation vehicle. I have been the bombadier in one though so here is my thoughts on it.

Galaxy - Great transportation vehicle, really tough armor, with enough protection to make it at least a bit protected from other aircraft. That said I don't think it is a vehicle that a lot of people like to fly, mainly because you can't gain points in it. Sure you help your team and squad but you can't actively participate. Thats one reason I think it should have a forward mounted 75mm gun for the pilot or replace the side guns with 75mm's so that it can be part of the battle after dropping.

Reaver - Ah this is my baby, my choice aircraft. My main character is a reaver pilot and I've never regretted it. I have over 1000 kills, most of them using a reaver. It packs one hell of a wallup and it is armored enough that even a sparrow shooting at it, you can get away before dying, if you take immediate action.

Mosquito - My wifes character, which i've taken over, uses a skeeter, its fast and nimble and has a adequete gun but its armor is like a egg shell, and it can't take any damage before blowing up. Yes a great skeeter pilot can often kill a reaver pilot but only if the reaver pilot runs. Head to head the reaver pilot will win.

Liberator - Ah the teamwork aircraft. If you have a good 3 man crew, the lib can be devastating. I've seen a lib almost single handed let a base get captured by killing 10-15 people at the vehicle term and clearing all the mines from a entrance letting a AMS and tanks roll in. But here's the catch, while it has good armor, if you don't have good teamwork and a good bombadier you are a sitting duck. Also without afterburner you are SOL if a burster or sparrow locks on. Another thing is it is easy to get a bombadier, people like doing that, but because only agile and below can crew for it, it is sometimes hard to get a gunner, this makes it real canon fodder for a skeeter or reaver.

Well thats my thoughts on aircraft, I definently think that if your serious about flying you have to have the engineer certification.

Yeah I too recommend the Engineer certification if your serious about flying. Especially for a Reaver, Mosquito, and kind the Liberator cause you can land them almost anywhere cause they only take up a small amount of space. But the Galaxy is harder to land because it takes up a lot of space so if only have a small area of flat land you can't land a Galaxy there.

I flew in an Enforcer yesterday (pity it hs no wings) due to having a dodgy driver and a cliff.

But the wraith comes closest.

The key to piloting libs is to get a tailgunner. If you have a good tailgunner no reaver or skeeter can touch you! All the pilot has to do is use the elevate key combined with appropriate speed and angle and the gunner has full coverage of the rear arc.

As for AA maxes, the pilot has to deal with those through evasive maneuvering. If there is enough AA over a base to make flying even at the max altitude impossible, then its time to hit the dirt and make low and fast sweeps over the base! The pilot should stay as close to the ground as possible, only getting high enough to make a pass over the base, then quickly going back to nape of the earth flying. If executed properly, the lib shouldn't be in range of the AA long enough for them to do significant damage.

Finally, when its time to clean up the roof of a base, the pilot and tailgunner of a lib can do this very effectively. Just cruising around the base at a slow speed and using the main and tail guns to mop up any survivors is always fun.

Reaver - cool for defence of bases or air support but without infantry and tanks it can be easily taken out by turret or by AA missle.

Mosquito - not visible on radar so its not recondized by those mad turrets on bases....its nice to "check out the base for enemys" or other recon tasks....also its nice to fool up enemy ifantry by flying at 150kmph and alt like 1-2m at their base and shouting "Best you can do?"

Liberator - dont like it..slow in the way of speed but has a large amount of firepower.

Galaxy - workhorse...its has a huge amount of armor but if you are a gal pilot dont even think about getting yourself into battle where enemy reavers at.....

btw you know there is dead river on ishundar...long canyon with some bridges...who can fly in it all way with no crashing?

Just an idea wouldn't it be cool if there were some sort of escort stryle viechel for the gal so that gals don't get blown up the moment a reaver shows up it would make for some fun squad action and tactics to take down the escort before the gal itself any thoughts would make the gal too hard to get at would it make the perfect adition to air units or am i just bullshiting

If you get a good reaver pilot to fly escort for a gal, you can effectively protect it. The best trick is to fly just far enough back that you can still see the galaxy, just barely. I do this all the time, when a skeeter or reaver get on its tail, you just afterburn up and either get it with rockets or your 20mm's. They'll at first think its the galaxy's guns and pay no attention, usually they won't break off attack before their ride breaks up I'm willing to bet you could do the same with a skeeter but it would take longer to kill the attacker.

air vehicles!!

I LOVE the Reaver and the Mosquito. I've flown both and they are AWESOME.

My absolute favorite air vehicle is the Liberator, and my favorite thing to do on the liberator is be the tail-gunner. The only problem I have with the tail gun is the limited side to side movement. Combined with a decent bomber a liberator can mop up most ground defenses pretty effectively and the regular guns can usually scare off/take out most aerial harassers. AA MAX's can be a problem sometimes but they usually aren't that big of a threat. Most of the time in batles where they are present they are more concerned with the closer Reavers and Mosquitos.

I love both the reaver and the skeeter if i only could get to br24 i would have both of them. The Lib is great to, but i think the most important part of the lib is its pilot, i think some pilots don't understand that they not the bombadier truly control were the bombs go. They have to fly right over the target to hit it with the AP bombs and they need to be pretty damn close to get the infantry to. Its also a must to have an Engy as one of the crew members preferably the bombadier because the tail gunner can shoot off ground enemys and if they need to get out of there fast a pilot is needed.

Like I said, the mosquito is my favorite. But the Lib is fun if you don't have a new pilot. A couple times I've been in a Lib bombing, when we'll decide to go bomb a base's vehicle pad and the pilot will dive down to the base so we can get closer, this is a definate no no. The Lib should ALWAYS stay at the flight ceiling, it's only weak spot is above it, like if a reaver get's above it your screwed. But if your at the flight ceiling, your tailgunner can take them out.
